See the email from [email protected]

Dear xxx

We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following item:

128439xxx

However, your listing was in violation of eBay's policies. We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not permitted.

Your listing contained an oversized PayPal banner, measuring 184x33 pixels. Please remember the allowed size is 88x33 pixels.

Placing inappropriate credit texts, links, or logo buttons for third parties in your listing descriptions is not permitted. Because it is in violation of eBay's Links and Credits policy, your listing has been ended early. All associated fees have been credited to your account.

Our Links and Credits policy states, in part:

"EBay will permit listings that contain a small, discrete identification or 'credit' to third parties that provide services or products directly connected with the particular listing or that allow a seller to aggregate their eBay listings. The credit may only contain one of the following to identify or credit the company offering the product or service:

Text (HTML font size 3)
OR
A logo (88x33 pixels)

The credit may not contain promotional material or other information about the company."

We recognize that many sellers use third party services to perform essential functions related to their listing, and that there are legitimate reasons for crediting such companies in their listings. For example, some companies offer picture hosting, counters, listing software and payment facilitation services. In exchange for providing their service, some third party companies require or request that they receive "credit" or recognition for their service within the eBay listing. We will allow such credit within the above guidelines.

The service being credited should only be one that the seller is using within that particular listing. For instance, if an image hosting service was used to create your listing, you may display a credit for the image hosting service provider (provided the credit adheres to the above guidelines):

Example:

"Image hosting services provided by company X."

The credit may link only to the third party company's web page containing information about the service.

Please note that the use of counters must also comply with this policy. If the counter contains a credit to the company offering the service, it must conform to our Third Party Credits guidelines. If the counter does not contain a credit to the company offering the service, there are no size restrictions. However, any logo or text used outside of the counter to credit the service that is provided must conform to our third party credits guidelines.

We would encourage you to review this policy and how it effects the way you list your items on eBay. In addition, the policy and FAQ page may help to further clarify points of the Links and Credits policy. You will find these pages at the following URLs:

Any future listings that are not in compliance with our third party credits guidelines will be ended early and repeated violations may jeopardize your account status. We sincerely value you as a member of our trading community and look forward to a continued successful relationship. To ensure this relationship, we must respectfully ask that you abide by our listing guidelines and User Agreement in the future.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Regards,

Take a look at the PayPal site.

Hit the "Sell" tab, then under "Add a PayPal logo to your auctions" click "Manual Logos."

There's an eBay-compliant logo listed there that you can use.

I've been using the "Smart Logo" for a while now, and with my last batch of auctions it's seen a lot of action.

Good luck!

You are using an older banner. eBay keeps changing the rules. Follow the above advice and you can retrieve a compliant logo.
