Refund Button
Notice Date: January 17, 2002
Effective Date: January 31, 2002
Due to popular demand, PayPal members will be able to refund all payments received by their PayPal account. The refund button will be available for the first five days after a payment is sent. If the transaction is refunded, all transaction fees will be refunded and the payment will be reversed.

Hi Damon, A good idea but may I toss in my two cents. I would suggest making it more like 8 to 10 days. with only five days the "buyer" will not even have time to get the merchandise and the main reason for a refund would be a dissatisfaction with the product. Allowing a little longer with the refund button would probably allow for a little less chargeback which cost sellers and paypal money. I don't recall ever having a chargeback against me and have only given about two refunds but this would make it even more simple if those cases were to present themselves in the future. TOM

Hi tomyou,
Thanks for the feedback. My immediate guess is that the refund button is in place to minimize issues with duplicate payments, or those payments that are not sent accurately (incorrect shipping,etc).
