Post for DAMON....
I am a new member of AW, and have been out of the country for several months. I just went into my PayPal account and was working on verifying a new bank account, as I have been through a nasty divorce...and now, my PayPal password won't work, and I strongly suspect former family members of changing it. They have already been to my Yahoo mailbox and changed my password there, as they know my birthdate. I have legal proceedings against them, as they have used my social security number to obtain thousands in credit. Now, I am terrified they will attempt to withdraw funds from my account. I have sent several e-mail messages to PayPal asking them to freeze my account until we get this resolved...question is, can you check my account and see if anyone has removed anything, and can we get this fixed? My customers need to be able to use the service! Help me please!!!

Here's my suggestion. Email Damon [email protected] about your problem, include the email address that was used on your PayPal account. Be prepared to fax some documents (bank statments, utility bills, etc.) to be able to prove you are who you say you are and the account does belong to you.

Don't expect a reply till Monday.

I would e-mail Damon about the problem. He will get it taken care of and help you out.

Yes, e-mail Damon. If you want to make sure ASAP that no one took money from your account, I would also call PayPal.

first of all,do not post under other people aw id,it just muddle the water.how do they know you are the owner of the paypal account??
you may have a hard time proving you are who you claim you are.
which brings back to the same damn issue we read over and over again-too many cooks spoil the broth-college students running a business together, roommates, lovers, partners, father, son, mother ,co workers sharing same pc,provider, email addr, bank accoynt, credit cards, paypal ,ebay etc.
no one should know your password unless you willingly give them your password, this is not like changing your yahoo id with ss number etc, they must have your password to access your paypal account, and how did they know your password if you have not given them your password??

Is Damon the only one who "works" at Paypal ?

How come people need to come to this board to solve problems Paypal should solve ?

Why are there not 1000 people under Damon doing their job so it does not make it to a public board or him ?

20 million accounts and they have one person who can help?

Sorry company indeed....

paypal can hire more people and make them come to this board and that board and have them work 7 days a week at customer service, but the expenses of such will be reflected in our fees.
i pay propay 35 cents and 3.5 % discount fee for each cc transaction,up to 1000 dollars limit per month.if i want to up that limit to 2000,there will be a 250 dollars reserve.
if i lower my limit from 2000 to 1000 someday, that 250 would be refunded 6 months later.
there is no seller protection,if there is customer chargeback, propay just pass on my documents and there is no promise that they will not access my bank account,THEY WILL ACCESS MY BANK ACCOUNT if i lose the chargeback if i do not come up with the money.
if i close my bank account,i am still liable for the deficit, and they will pursue the matter legally.
so paypal is not a bad deal for most of us who play by the rules.
it is not possible for a service to please everyone, some of the people who post on aw should get a merchant account or find other means of accepting payment.
there are services which will bend backwards to please their customers,it is called merchant banking for the rich-thick carpet, gourmet coffee, nice dining room ,your own personal banker, but you moust have enough to deserve that service.
