Hi,
I sold a bracelet in December to a buyer in Canada. He received it Dec 13, left me a good feedback.
Jan 15, I received email from him complaining about the bracelet. The stones fell off and he wanted a full refund.

I emailed him back that I tem stated on the auction ad:
*ITEM GUARANTEED* TO BE AS REPRESENTED WITH A 5 DAY RETURN POLICY

He's been having the barcelet for over a month, it broke and now want a full refund. I don't think that I have to give him a refund.

He filed a complaint with Yahoo Buyer Protection Program.

What do you think the best solution?

Thank you

I'd certainly agree you don't owe him anything. He's had plenty of time and now he's got buyer's remorse (Or just plain bad luck).

Yahoo Buyer Protection Program? Wow- I didn't even know they had anything like that.

So what does this entail? Unless he paid by Yahoo Paydirect, I don't see how they can FORCE you to refund him. Are they threatening to close your account or something? I think my real question is ... "So What?" What's the downside to just ignoring the whole thing?

That's what I want to do. I wanna just ignore it because like I said I don't owe him anything. It's been more than a month.
I also don't know anything about Yahoo Buyer Protection Program until now.

Here's the link:

I don't know what's next step that Yahoo going to do to me. They give me 5 days to work things out with the buyer and after that the buyer can escalate his complaint.

OK, I've read the page at the link. It sounds an awful lot like Amazon's A-Z guarantee which I *AM* familiar with.

It's essentially their version of buyer insurance which the insurance company (CynoSure) covers. The buyer can make TWO lifetime claims, after that they're out of luck. There's also a $25 deductible. How much was this item?

If they contact you for more information, send them your delivery confirmation and tell your side of the story. They may NOT contact you, in which case, just forget about it.

If a seller gets a bunch of these complaints, Yahoo might do something about it, but I seriously doubt you have anything to worry about this time. Unless they tell you otherwise, I'd ignore it. It doesn't sound like you'll need to pay anything.

Again, my experience with this is from Amazon's policy, but sounds nearly identical to what they have.
