Nobody home but us disgruntled mice. Not even enough to eat out here.

I tried and it flopped. Not even any lookers on half what I put out. Back to gnawing on the baseboards.

Any ideas as WHY Yahoo has bottomed out? They dipped after they started imposing listing fees, but made a fairly quick recovery. Many who went to "the big one" came back after being choked to death by high fees and the ones who ran to the "freebe" sites came back after a long, dry spell of no bidders. Now... Yahoo seems to have few bidders and a lot less lookers.
Please don't tell me it's the summer slump. I continue to do well at eBay.
Any thoughts?

Lack of advertising would be my guess. When people think of aucitons, they think eBay. I've had people who don't even own computers talk to me about eBay.
Yahoo Auctions? When was the last time you saw a big song and dance number on prime-time TV for that? When was the last time you even saw a banner ad on Yahoo Mail for the auctions?
It's a low-maintenance, low-income extra thing for them now. They are focused on the more expensive and profitable Stores, and don't care a whit about auctions.
It's almost exactly the same story as Amazon Auction. They still exist, but no one cares, including the management.
There are still regular sellers on both sites, and even some regular buyers. But I don't think there are many people making a full time living off any site but eBay.

Well, if you don't want to hear the truth, then don't ask. Clearly there is a summer slump. Not only at Yahoo, but at Ebay as well. Happens same time every year. I am in my 5th year with Yahoo and looking back, every summers sales slow to a crawl. It is a good time for a seller to get reorganized and set for the Christmas season. I suggest to take advantage of it.

They're not putting any advertising or support into auctions. They've conceded to Ebay. I don't know why Yahoo or AMZ even has auctions.
