Is anybody else on Yahoo auctions? are you getting views?
I sure don't.
Not even a watch. Have several items listed, very good and VG prices.
this is a killer.
Maybe it's a slow season?

I still put up things now and then. It's been months and months since I sold anything. The site is simply DEAD.

I have had limited success. The best part is you can list for 10 days with 5 relists, so there isn't much maintenance needed.

Sal - why would you think that an auction site whose managers care so much about it that they make finding a link to it the advertising equivalent of Where;s Waldo would get traffic?

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Yahoo is NOT dead. People will NOT bid on your items if they have no clue you are there!
Ideas to bring traffic:
* If you own a site, put on it you sell at Yahoo Auctions.
*Send out a mass mailing either through email or snail mail.
*If you do any magazine/newspaper advertising: ADVERTISE your Yahoo auction and include a link.
*If you do shows, PRINT UP a bunch of flyers with your Yahoo Auction link.
*If your town has those poster boards where you can put anything up (business cards, flyers, etc). PRINT up a few with the cut-outs on the bottom people can take with them.
Advertising is key - if you don't advertise, you are dead in the water.

Now there's the dumbest advice I've heard in ages.
If you're going to go to all that trouble to advertise, why advertise for Yahoo, when you can list your OWN site?
Every sale I make gets a flyer and business card. For my OWN website, not Yahoo or eBay.
I want Yahoo to succeed so we can have a second big sales venue, but I'm not going to sacrifice my future profits to do it. If Yahoo needs advertising, then let Yahoo advertise. They're certainly willing to take my money for banner ads, so let them give up a little for their own auction site.

I use Yahoo to drive people to my ebay store. There are people looking on there but that is all they do. It has been that way for years and it won't change. I quit posting with them a while back because it was a drain on the old cash pile. When they went free I started listing again but I have a link to my eBay store in the listings. I get people that come from there and I save on my FVF fees. I know because I see my traffic reports and my rebates each month on my fees but it still is not a big deal. When I do sell something on there it is a pain in the but to do the work because Yahoo has no standard invoicing. I won't spend any money on them. I spend money on getting to my web page which links to my eBay store for now. Building the web store is going to be my summer project.

The doctor has it right. Go ahead and use Yahoo as an advertisement for your own site.
