I really like the old way of relisting in SM. The only problem I have right now is trying to figure out how to AUTO RELIST in SMIE. Can anyone fill me in? I have switched back and forth from edition to edition but I always just seem to be having problems with SMIE and auto relist.

Hello,

Instead of using auto relist in SMIE, we recommend usage of Profiles. You can set up profiles to function like auto relist. With profiles you can now automatically list something again whether it sold or not.

Ok I have made the switch. Here is what I want to do. Say I only want 2 of a certain up for auction and when an item sells I want it to automatically relaunch another item @ 7pm of the same day the item sold. Do I have do a Schedule-Quantity profile and have 7PM scheduled everyday of the week?

Hello,

Yes, that is correct -- Scheduled Quantity at 7pm for as many days a week as you want would be ideal for this situation. If you have an item sell say, in the morning, the next one will get launched for 7pm that evening (provided you selected that day as part of the profile).

OK now lets say the item doesnt sell... What happens then? Will it continue to relist until it sells?

One more thing. What happens to my CURRENT auctions when they end without a winner? Will I have to assign a profile to them or will they automatically relist if I already have a similar item with a profile on it?

Another thing.. let me know if this is normal. I did as you said and I scheduled my item to launch whenever it sold at 730pm the same day. However now I am seeing the item as pending every single day. Is it going to launch even if it doesnt sell? I just want to make sure I am doing this correct before I have 20 of the same item up for sale.

Hello --

To address your questions:
1) SMIE utilizes free re-lists when available. So, if a listing ends without a sale, the next listing of that same item will utilize the free re-list that eBay allows.
Also, if you attach an auto-launch profile to an item, it will continue to launch listings at your specified schedule (or as soon as another listing ends, if it's using the "fixed quantity" strategy) until the "quantity available" of that item goes down to 0.

2) To ensure that your CURRENT auctions will re-list if they end without a winner, we recommend the following:
- If you haven't done so already, make sure to complete a Import of your existing listings: Click on "Import" in the left-hand navigation, then select "Import from existing Vendio Account" and "Import from existing listings". This will create an inventory item for each of your currently live auctions, with "quantity on market" set to the quantity in the auction, and "quantity available" set to 0.
- Create an auto-launch profile that uses "Fixed-Quantity" strategy and specifies a "Quantity on Market" of 1. Once you attach this profile to an item, this is equivalent to re-listing the item until its available quantity is depleted.
- Attach this newly-defined auto-launch profile to your items associated with current auctions.

3) Regarding your list of items in "Pending Listings" - don't panic. This list shows all the listings that would get automatically launched *if all criteria are met*. So, for example, even though you have an auto-launch profile with a "Schedule-Quantity" strategy that specifies a 7:30 pm launch every night, a launch will only occur at 7:30 pm IF you have quantity available of that inventory item AND IF your quantity on market is not already satisfied (For example, you specify via "quantity on market" in the auto-launch profile that you only want max 2 on market at a time - a new listing will be launched only if the number of listings is less than 2.)

Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer -- thanks --

Hello again. I just had some auctions end without winners and did not get to attach a profile to them in time. Now they are sitting in my unsold items folder. I tried to go ahead and relist them manually but I got a message saying "Auto Relist is enabled for this item and will be relisted automatically". However they have not been relisted nor do they appear in my pending auctions. How do I relist these items?

I just noticed something else. I have over 400 items up on eBay right now and it would take me a while to attach a profile to each and every one of them even if I did it in bulk. Also some of my items are store items and some are eBay motors items so I have to sort through them and assign profiles depending on where they are listed. If I have an item listed in eBay motors and I assign a profile for regular ebay auctions as well as eBay store will it launch in both? This seems to be a good system but getting started is a real pain.

Hello --

Regarding the auto-relist message you're seeing, can you please provide the number or name of an item where this is happening? Even after the listings have closed, and are sitting in "Unsold items", you should still be able to attach an auto-launch profile to the associated inventory item, as described above, to get them re-listed.

As for organizing your items and attaching profiles to them quickly, you may find the "Find & Replace" functionality more efficient. It is available from the main inventory view. This enables you to make changes to multiple items in bulk, without having to use the bulk editor:
1 - Use "Find & Replace" to move selected items into appropriate folders, to help your organization.
2 - Next, use "Find & Replace" to attach one of your pre-defined launch profiles to selected items.

Note that, even if you assign a profile to an item for multiple listing formats/venues (i.e. eBay Motors, eBay Auction, eBay Store), your item will ONLY be able to succesfully launch to those formats and venues IF the Site Specifics for those venues are complete. In the main inventory view, the small gavel, barcode and pricetag icons underneath each item indicates if the Site Specifics for a given venue and format are complete: colored-in icons indicate they are complete, while greyed-out icons are incomplete.

So, for example, in your account: the item "RED PORSCHE 911 924 928 CARERRA BOXSTER HAT CAP NEW" only has complete information for launching to eBay Motors as an Auction or Fixed-Price listing, while the item "AKAI MPC 2000 2000XL S2000 S3000XL 32MB MEMORY UPGRADE" has complete information for launching to eBay as an Auction, Fixed-Price or Store listing.

Please let us know what additional information we can provide -- thanks --

Thanks for getting back to me on this. OK if you check my "unsold items" folder you will see a bunch of auctions that ended yesterday 11/08. I cannot relaunch any of those items from that screen. How do I go about relaunching these items?

Hello --

We've been looking into your account and it appears we are having some inventory accounting issues with some of your closed, unsold items. For example, for some of the items in your unsold list, we are still showing "Quantity on Market" as 1 and "Quantity Available" as 0 in the corresponding inventory item, even though the listing has been closed.

We are continuing to investigate what is causing this and are working to resolve the discrepancies. In the meantime, so that we can do better troubleshooting in your account and without requiring you to alter the inventory numbers arbitrarily, the most direct way to ensure you get these items re-listed tonight would be to re-list the items through eBay:
-- From your "unsold items" list, click on the listing id number to get to your View Item page, and then click the appropriate re-list buttons on eBay.

I apologize for the inconvenience and will work with our team to resolve this as quickly as possible for you.

Forget it.. It has already cost me money trying to figure it out. I will just go back to the old way of doing things until all the bugs are fixed. I have almost 50 items that should have relisted but did not because of this bug!I should be reimbursed somehow by Vendio but I know that wont happen so I wont even ask. I am rather disappointed at the level of service that Vendio provides...

ok now I am really upset. I just went back to SMME and I have some items sitting in the unsold folder.. the auctions that ended 11/09 were already scheduled for relist howver the ones from 11/08 still give me the "will be automatically relisted" error. Please fix this this.. this is starting to cost me more and more each day.
