Finally got a call from my daughter...
*** building not evacuated because it was built as a bomb shelter and there is no metro service out of DC now.
People are walking out of DC now...no transportation.

This is unconfirmed, but Dan Rather said there were "a few" more planes "missing" and unaccounted for. Where are they heading?

This is unbelieveable. I am in Canada and CBC Newsworld is showing live coverage, I saw the second tower collapse as it happened. My prayers are with everyone who is affected by this, please keep safe and be careful.

I am not far from Camp David's location and I've seen nothing about Camp David at this point.

My daughter had a meeting at the Pentagon yesterday and she said that security was intense...so there must have been some warning.

The only thing I've heard is a report on CBS that a plane went down "in the vicinity" of Camp David. Nothing on ABC or CNN about that.

I live midway between NYC and Philadelphia (50ish miles away from NYC - about 60 from Philly) and my son called and he could see the smoke from the WTC from his restaurant.
They just called my husband who works 4 pm to midnight and told him they cancelled. I'm happy that he will be home tonight.
I hope our posters who live in these areas stay safe and that we will recover from these horrendous attacks asap.

DC news reported that the plane that went down in Somerset County, Pa., was targeted for Camp David.

Dan Rather just asked someone where Bush was, and nobody seems to know. AF1 had not landed yet, and it will be at an undisclosed location.

I just heard the military is now at threat condition DELTA level - the same level we would be at if we were to declare war.

I hope we don't go into a state of martial law, but it could happen. These terrorists have promised us for a while that they would do this so it shouldn't be a surprise to any of us(even though it is). Everyone needs to be praying that God would give our president and the leadership of this nation a cool head and the wisdom and discernment on how to deal with this. I wish, but I don't think this is over yet.

My boss had a meeting in NYC today, he is on 5th ave - he just called - everyone there at the office is ok, but understandably stunned/shock. I am so glad he called!

How do a bunch of 767s go hundreds of miles off course without any kind of response? Jesus. They're shutting down everything in DC (except the public schools). All the roads and bridges are in evening rush mode (meaning more lanes outbound). They've shut down Union Station, meaning all the folks who commute in from Baltimore, West Virginia, and central Virginia are stranded. Just heard that units from our local B-CC rescue squad are down at the Pentagon -- that's a fair piece away. (They're the best. Folks in NW DC don't call 911 for an ambulance, they call B-CC). They said that hasn't happened since the Air Florida crash in '82. All the rumors about attacks around The Mall are just rumors. All reports of additional explosions in DC which have been investigated have been false. (According to the DCFD spokesman who was just on.) National Airport won't open until 11AM tomorrow at the earliest. They just did a count on people who were at the Pentagon and being treated at local hospitals -- I think the total works out to 51; 20 at the biggest local burn center. Two of the major roads from the Pentagon area into DC have been shut down.

Absolutely horrific...My mind cannot comprehend the enormity of this attack....Swinging between numb & serious anger (the Palistinines dancing in the streets really got me going...how can ANY human being rejoice at the loss of life?...innocent people went to work in those buildings today & will never come home again, and these ANIMALS are dancing???...Sick, sick sick people!)
God bless us all & keep us safe today and all the tomorrows that are to come from this tragedy.

If I suffer a tragedy and someone celebrates that tragedy they are my enemy. I've had compassion and sympathy for the Palestinians in the past.
