hair2dye4, I'm doing good, I emptied a small storage unit today and found a couple of pieces of Delft porcelain, some cd's and other good resaleable things.
It was jdk that found the snake. I think he said it was a corn snake.
As far as funds for lockers, I would take about $250.00 in cash along.
Here's a couple a tips for you. When they open the doors of the units to be sold you want to look at what there is but also make note of how much of the dust on the boxes and/or bags has been disturbed. This will tell you how much the managers have gone through it and taken stuff out. Also look for boxes that have been retaped and if you can tell how old the tape is for the same reason as above.
Make a mental note of how you are going to empty the unit before you bid. Big stuff like couches, dressers, pianos, or other large pieces of furniture will require you to have a truck. Sometimes I won't bid if there is a lot of big stuff.
Most storage facilities that auction use a regular fast talking auctioneer. If you can't understand what he/she is saying during the auction because of his/hers fast talking, just ask them. Don't let them intimidate you with their fast talking. I can never understand them when they do that fast talking auctioneering so I ask what the bidding is at periodically, they hate that, but what the heck it's my money they are after.
Take a couple of locks with you so that if you are the winner you can lock it back up until you can empty it. Also, if they have an electronic gate ask them for a temporary gate code to use until you are finished emptying the unit.

Now Jack are you sure you were not in Tennessee last wednesday??? Do you have red hair?? We were trucking along on an out of the way road waaaaay up in the mountains and came up to a store - gas station. There sitting on a chair right there by the road was what we thought was a woman. Skirt all hiked up, legs provocatively positioned, looking down the road. She was a mannequin!! But to top it off there was a red headed man there hugging her up while his wife took his picture!! HA!! HA!! Jack I thought it must be you!! So I struck up a conversation with him and asked if I could take his picture. Yes he said, that would be fine! SO I have a picture that later this week if someone will tell me how to do it I will post. I left my camera in the van but it has been mailed so I should have it by wednesday.
ANYWAY it is good to be back and HELLO TO YOU ALL!!!
