You were posting the same time I was. THanks for your reply. I guess I figured that if nobody was interested, they wouldnt post in them and the current threads would come back to the top anyway. Sorry. I was bored, it was slow in here tonight and kinda late, so I just played alittle bit. My intention was not to upset anyone. Thats the truth. Again, sorry. I will not do it again since it is unwelcome.

It's difficult for me to imagine how anyone would not think that pulling up numerous old threads which bury the current threads which posters are engaging with discussing would be considered anything other than rude. But then I'm sure that you will assure me that that wasn't your intention. So this ends our discussion of the matter.

Especially since people have complained about it every time it has happened in the past no matter who pulled them up.

Hi Antiquary! What are you doing up so late??

Well, you have a really nice night yourself, antiquary. So nice to know what you think...or rather, what you perceive to think of me. Learn something new everyday, I do. Sometimes it surprises me. But now I know, so lesson learned.

I also recommend you taking a look-see and you will view that the current threads are not buried at all. Lots of room on the page, but it sounds better to say I "buried current threads". Go figure.

Hi Robin,

It is very late for me. Just stopped by before bed. Started The Sum of All Fears which I hadn't read before so on my way to picking it back up. Have a good night.

EEK! Don't scare yourself reading that right at bed time! You'll have nightmares!I imagine like in most instances the book is better than the movie?

If anyone has seen a movie that was better than the book - ever - I would like to know about it.

Hep,

Dredge up a few more old threads! I enjoy them. There's a repettiveness to the present threads that makes them tedious.

"The Shawshank Redemption," and "Stand by Me," although the originals both might have been novellas rather than books.

Hi, donny.

"The Last Picture Show" was as good as the book.

Hiya Saabsister, have never read or seen "The Last Picture Show." But I did catch a repeat of "Lonesome Dove," the other week. Not quite sure I'd say that that movie was better than the book, but it wasn't too bad at all.

Speaking of Larry McMurtry, the "Terms of Endearment" movie WAS much better than the book. Lonesome Dove is a toss up, The Last Picture Show was good, but so was the book. The book sequel wasn't so hot, but I don't think they made a movie about it.

Most times, McMurtry's books are better than the movies.

KatyD, "Texasville" is the sequel to "The Last Picture Show". The book was better than the movie.

The only movies that I ever saw that were exactly like the book and just as good AS the book was Gone With The Wind, and Shawshank Redemption.

I read Texasville, saabsister. I didn't think it was so hot. I didn't know they made a movie of it too. Was Cybill in that one too?

KatyD, yes, Cybil was in it. Many of the original cast were in it. I thought both the book and movie were disjointed but there were a few funny scenes that didn't make it into the movie.
