I think all in all, everyone here is saddened that the kid died. Nobody wanted to see that happen.

Well, junquemama,

I don't understand the overwhelming hostility and lack of compassion. I've had my car stolen by a bunch if kids. They took it for a joy ride, parked it in the High School football field and tried to set it on fire. So nobody can say that I am not in the real world.

And so it goes....

It doesn't matter what property crime the kid committed. The police are not judge, jury, and executioner. A sane society doesn't want them to be either.

Right REAMOND!

"A sane society doesn't want the police to be judge, jury and executioner." It will be interesting to learn how Geoffrey Fieger's case is handled.

Helen

That was good to hear!

But the police officer did not:

Shoot the child because he was black
Shoot the child because he thought he was a child
Shoot the child because he had stolen a car.

So will you people get off it. Quit harping on the immaterial garbage.

He shot the child because he, however mistaken he was, thought he was being shot at. In that case, the officer IS judge, jury and executioner! He was protecting his a$$. So are you, So am I! If someone shoots at you, are going to be an idiot and negotiate? Are you going take the bullet for your wacked-out principles??? Our are you going to defend yourself?

And do not, I repeat, do not come back with "The kid was unarmed" crap. We know that....NOW! But what about then. You always have to assumed a CRIMINAL has a weapon, PERIOD! It is the society we live in now.

Reminds of a story I read 25 years ago. The cops were being sued for gunning down a BLACK women in her home. They really EMPHASIZED black throughout the article. The police went to her apartment looking for her boyfriend for questioning and they GUNNED HER DOWN! The family sued the city and got a settlement(children for profit). What the article eventually mentioned is that the woman opened the door and pointed an unloaded 12 gauge shotgun at the officers. But her family still went through the lawsuit because "the officers should have known the shotgun was unloaded.
.................................................

We call them our heroes...but we pay them like chumps

Before I decided how I feel about your case, Helen, I need to know if those kids knew you personally or not.

Do you know if the officer took a lie detector test. There was some discusslon in a few articles that I read about this case in which the police officer's story was being questioned. And several witnesses were excluded from the coroners hearing.

I'd have a hard time believing they'd ask the officer to take a lie detector test. He'd be silly to do it. Of course it would read all sorts of conflicting reactions to the event. I'd never trust the base line of questions to sort out this one.
The presumption is that the officers don't lie.
although I know that is not always true who would take the job if the opposite was true?

Just to throw a different angle in this his parents stand to get a heck of a lot more money than the blood money the Palestinians get for blowing up their kids.
Maybe when the do that here they can get Fieger find some basis to sue.

Hearing a gun shot in broad daylight and shooting a 12 year old in the back as a result of hearing the sound does nothing to exonerate the cop that murdered the young kid.

Reasoning that would allow this type of police action would put the public at grave risk everytime a firecracker goes off or a car backfires or a door slams. A ridiculous result.

Reamond..tell ya what. You go be a police officer, then do the gang neighborhoods. Then, chase someone that just stole a car, hear a shot, see your partner drop down, and THEN tell us you wouldnt do the same, k?

No matter what neighborhood REAMOND is in, and no matter what REAMOND is doing there, no matter what uniform REAMOND is wearing, if he hears what he thinks is a gun shot and sees 1 or 5 or 20 people fall to the ground, it would not give REAMOND or anyone else the right to murder anyone.

Edited to add- If you can not exercise the best judgement when using deadly force, then find another occupation, you have no right to be a policeman.

Reamond - I'm not really sure I understand your position on this.

I've often wondered if you've studied law. Or are a lawyer. I know you're a fairly young man...and I always enjoy these type of threads you start.

Rid the USA of thieving scum is your call cry.
.
Your forefathers hung and shot cattle thieves, while at the same time permitting the THEFT of Black people from their families.
HYPOCRICY.
.
If you insisted on killing thieves, why didn’t you insist on killing them all??
HYPOCRICY.
.
You same people, consistently, support the Jewish claim to ‘Israel’ and see no reason to give America back to the Indians.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You ask for the eradication of oppressive regimes and yet groups like the KKK still operate.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You want to kill those groups, which assist Al-Qaida, yet your own government within your government helped train and arm them.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You charge Iraq with going against UN rulings while at the same time doing so yourselves.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You demand, no WOMD for Iraq, Pakistan Korea and etc etc all others, and yet your nation excels in their manufacture, and remain the only ones to have used Nuclear weapons against a civilian population.
HYPOCRICY.
.
Should you go ahead with this war, even though it’s cost will be$1K-$20K/Family (assuming war confined to Iraq & no major use of Chem’ or Bio’ Weapons) as estimated by (Professor William Northouse, Prof of Economics at Yale)
OR
Do you sit back and watch Oil Prices fluctuate out of America’s Control?
.
Do you see this as a dilemma?
If you do then, you clearly are concerned for loosing your dominant status and nothing more.
Being that your leaders are subject to the same indoctrination as you in your own country, their emotions are much the same as yours, especially if that leader has a bigger interest in oil than you.
And yet many of you claim to be acting in the interest of liberating the oppressed.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You speak of the right to free markets, and yet oppose any Idea of the Middle East, having the upper hand in oil sales, even when they quite plainly own it.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You charge the Muslim States with being fanatics for having hate for Americans which you see as a crime against humanity, and yet you ‘hate’ them.
HYPOCRICY.
.
You speak of the right to free markets, and yet oppose any Idea of the Middle East, having the upper hand in oil sales, even when they quite plainly own it.
HYPOCRICY.
.
Twelvepole is one of the few honest ones among you,
he IS the true patriot,
he has no problem with America remaining big brother and admits it.
.
You call yourselves the home of the brave and yet hide behind lies.
.
These truths I see to be self-evident.
.
Don’t feel isolated, Australia is guilty of many of these crimes against humanity too.
.
The real problem is that we are not in a position to bring on all the four horsemen of the apocalypse, America is.
And it seems America WILL.
.
But most of you are blind to that.

I apologise for offending any of you Good people, my intention is to give an insight into some shocking truths to some that are not ‘good’.

Regardless of 12poles’ intentions behind his postings, the fact it seems, is that most do embrace the hypocrisies which I have outlined, and he IS guilty of perpetuating them, as they are.

These are crimes against humanity.

Aust - paainting all americans woth the same extremeist brush accomplishes nothing. Your approach does nothing to open peoples eyes. The only thing you accomplish is getting them to turn their back.

Nobody wants to or is receptive to being spoken AT. Try speaking to people, more explanitory less accusitory. You have a lot of good points but they are fall on deaf ears due to your delivery method.
