But because they are churches, they gather all the headlines: it is just one more form of BIGOTRY in the secular media.
Haven't forgotten a thing and it is not bigotry - there has never been such wide spread and such a huge cover up of the defiling of children in modern history. The public institutions are not masquerading as supremely moral institutions that are in contact with god on a regular basis, promoting a false trust in its denzions.
People are on guard when dealing with secular institutions. The religious have their wits dulled and are by definition gullible. Their two most important treasures, their children and their money are readily given over to the religious institutions.

Your bigotry clearly shows. These ARE moral institutions. No one is MASQUERADING as anything. Just because they disagree with your left-wing liberal beliefs does not mean THEY are the ones on the wrong side.
There are a few bad apples here and there, but 99% of preists and ministers as good people, just like 99% of cops are good folks. I won't hazard a guess at the percentage of good politicians, however.
When a bad cop turns up, it reflects badly on the entire force, but that doesn't in any way mean all cops are bad. Some people seem to think just the opposite.

They are NOT moral. Any institution that defiles children and then hides it and remains silent in not moral by any stretch.

This one bad apple argument won't fly. 1% of the priests may have been raping children, but 99% covered it up, and/or remain silent, and/or refuse to accept responsibility, and/or refuse to change the institution, and/or refuse to believe the victims, and/or refuse to help the victims, and/or refuse to rebuke the leadership, including the pope over this matter.
