...to make sure that neither your computer nor any of your account logons (ISP, email, web account, etc.) are accessible by anyone else. The easiest way to do this is to change all of your account passwords, and to password-protect your HD.
If this has no immediate meaning for you, then a big nevermind, and a Happy Saturday to you either way!

pareau-if your talking about the person stealing my pictures (that I know personally)
she did it before I put text in most of them, and saved them all, I guess for later, like now. Just right clicked on the pic, she isn't linking them to my FTP. (AND SHE DIDN'T EVEN create new .jpg names)
Unless your talking about something else, then I need to know what your talking about.....
I have all the stuff zone alarm and all that on when online....

pareau now this whole post/thread you started is really bugging me. Why did you say it might be smart to change passwords and password protect my hard drive? I mean if its because of the other thread then SAY IT, because this is really bugging me now.

"ShellyHerr, might be smart..."
If that's a pop - test I'll vote yes. But, being smart and being psychic are two different things.
Why post such an alarming warning - then just leave her hanging?

Silly, I know...but didja smile, didja, huh?
I once did that in my description on a robe I was selling on ebay. I said in the description: "This robe looks JUST like the one my mom had on, her foot a'tappin, hair in rollers, pursed mouth and arms crossed when she was on the other side of the window I was crawling back into at 2am in the wee hours of the morn when I was a young'un". Need less to say, I got some laughing emails from potential bidders calling me SIS..IS THAT YOU? lol!

Climbing out the window?
I never climbed out a window when I was a teenager - Of course I had my own place by the time I was sixteen - so, it would have been my own window I was climbing out of.
That woulda been silly.

I remember last year we had a poster here (he's still with us, by the way, but doesn't post anywhere near as much as he used to) who could be a contentious fellow at times. He gave as good as he got, sometimes starting arguments himself, other times letting himself be provoked by others.
Well, one day several trolls appeared in our midst and they all had one thing in common -- this fellow's ISP number. Upon this discovery it seemed apparent to everyone including the moderator that he was trolling under different user IDs. He and the pseudonyms were promptly suspended -- but only temporarily. You see, he contacted AW and explained to the head honchos that it wasn't really him using all of those IDs. According to him, his neighbors (I assume they were friendly neighbors) got into his house somehow and logged on to his computer. I guess they wanted to bring the spirit of neighborliness to AW because once they got his computer up and running they made a mad dash to AW, created the multiple IDs and started a-trollin'.
Now, I know what you're thinking. You're shaking your head and saying, no way, there were no neighbors, it was this one guy all along. Well friends, that's what we all thought too. But the official AW decision announced to us all insisted that the crafty neighbors did exist and were indeed responsible. Thus this fellow remains an AW member to this day.
Moral of the story: make sure your friends and neighbors don't have access to your computer. Don't give them your log-on password and definitely don't point the way to AW. Even though his neighbors were responsible for the trolling, our contentious friend who doesn't post much anymore almost paid the ultimate price because his posts and the troll posts were all tracked to the same ISP, giving the impression that he alone was responsible for all the mischief.

Shell, for what its worth, I think pareau was just saying for you to be careful and change the info to your pc in case the friend you mentioned had access. If she is stealing your pics, and you turn her in, she could wreck havoc, ya know?

Spaz writes a Dear Jon letter.
One of those neighbors had walked all the way from Denver to borrow a cup of sugar, as I recall.
