I have decided that selling on ebaY is no longer worth the hassle. I requested that ebaY close my account ASAP. For the past month or so, I've been using the time normally used for "ebaY functions" to expand my on-line business in other ways (aggressively promoting my web site mainly). The effort has led to higher profit margins and much less aggravation. I might give yahoo a try but it isn't a priority right now.

I think you WOnt see a big jump or incress in listings all at one time, in fact you wont see a good jump more then likely till the 20th when the fees come down.
Most right now are busy registering and getting use to navigateing the Ebay system some will more then likely put up small batch of test listings just to get a feel for the catagories.
Right now the big key is not getting sellers who are tired and fed up to move its getting the buyer that left when Things dropped off last year and new buyers in to see yahoo.
Keep in mind a push over one or two days in favor of shifting to yahoo is nothing , they say thirty days makes a habbit.
This is the key to make yahoo a habbit for the many buyer and sellers this is going to take more then just words from yahoo they now have to put them words into action or they will lose any momentum that has started quicker then it came on.. http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

I have been selling on eBay for about 3 years and Yahoo for 2. I used to have great sales on Yahoo, but when the listing fees came in, most of the sellers in my catergory left, and subsequently the buyers. I am hoping that when listings start to increase, the buyers will come back. I will still sell on eBay, but really increase my Yahoo listings.

yahoo auctions is such a backwater that it can't be expected to have any noticable short term effect, but it is encouraging as they may revive.
ebay really needs a live competitor to discourage its monopoly inspired arrogance.

I tried Yahoo a few times. In the software category where I sell, most of the listings were for bootlegged software. I mean, dozens of auctions for Adobe Photoshop at $20. That makes it nearly impossible for honest sellers. Also, when I did have a winner, more often than not I never got paid. That made Yahoo a total waste of time.
When Yahoo introduced fees, they lost 90% of their auctions. And spare me the "no free lunch" lecture. They could have handled it differently and avoided the crash and burn. I'd guess Yahoo is desperate. Maybe now they will listen to what sellers want and stop treating auctions like the goose that lays golden eggs.
Yahoo is not eBay. Yahoo should understand that. Sellers won't pay if the sales aren't there.
