OK. Simple question. Has ANYONE received a unit? Other companies have already received many units and ps2cart is the only one that is going to get them all at once? So, they get a better deal than Wal Mart or K Mart?

Get a grip with reality. You have a better chance of Santa dropping you one down your chimney and you are still out $300.00.........sucker born every minute....thank goodness to keep places like paypal and ps2cart in business.

Gametek is not a Paypal verified site and Paypal is just as crooked as Gametek.

I don't know what to make of this whole thing. I don't think it's a fraud but then again I haven't heard anything from GameTek either. I've written PayPal and GameTek...nothing. I will give them the benefit of the doubt until next week since I am sure they are swamped with calls and e-mails. I just hope that if things fall through I won't have any problems getting my money back.

Hey Bubbadumb...why don't you hold out for 3 grand a piece. You will be left with no money and 3 Playstations. The rest of us will wait until Feb. like the other smart people. Don't you just love the dipsh*ts.

There really isn't that serious of a shortage. New units keep coming into the market.... (or in the Auction's case, the grey market) all the time.

There's been a steady stream of them sold for far over value, but $3000 is probably a long-shot. Higest I've seen them sell for in the last weeks is $800 or so. (Still...)

$3000 for all three... I can see that happening.

"Sorry Timmy- we had to spend most of your college fund, and we're going to have a hard time paying for rent these next few months... but look what Santa got you on E-bay!"

It was a total scam; they never shipped a single PS2, never had any means to.

Known to be a scam for over a month now in these parts. Sorry for the bad news.

I live about 1 hour from them and when it didn't show up on dec. 15th I decided to drive their with my son .
The building was there , but no sign of Gametek .We saw two guys upstairs and we asked them if they know where gametek was.......well , I don't have good news people , it WAS a scam ....
They were arrested last week , it was on the news and I missed it . They made $400,000 and they are in jail now .... two young men ....
So I drove to Fountain valley police department to find out what I was supposed to do . I got some information on the asigned investigator and i will follow up monday morning and I'll do my best to post what ever I'll find out .
Good luck to all of us ..........
There goes my son's x-mas gift .......

I would also like to thank the person who posted on yahoo auctions that gametek had playstations available. He made it sould great. I wish I had his freakin email address. I wonder if he possibly had any ties with gametek, possibly to drum up sales. I don't know. Paypal put me on a 48hr call back deadline. Yea, right. Anyway, I just wanted to get more off my chest. I'm sure more will come. I guess that is how most of the people got into this mess, with people posting that info only in exchange for a referral.

Well what are we going to do about this? Does anyone know who we can contact about this?

Contact your credit card company.
Tell them you never received anything in return for the charge.
They're required by federal law to refund.

They won't argue.
They won't stall.
They won't say they're working on it as fast as they can, while nothing happens.
They won't ask you for a notarizedaffidavit.

They will ask you to sign a form explaining what happened.

I am one of the suckers sitting here wondering whether I will see delight in my child's face on Christmas morning with his Playstation II from pscart.com. I am also one of the suckers who sent a certified check. Does anyone have the latest? I was guaranteed delivery by Dec. 23rd. They have stopped answering emails and as I read, their website is a ghost town. Should I hold out any faith? Mom in CT in distress!

Well I hit the refresh button and I gather I am a complete sucker - one with tears at this point.. Guess when we want something too much for our children, we are willing to take risks.

PLEASE let me know how I can also jump on the bandwagon to ensure these guys get what they are due...

Thanks

I am so sorry to hear about so many people falling victim to this apparent scam. We did too. I was glad to make contact with some others in the same boat as us. I guess that old saying "misery loves company" has some truth to it.
For anyone who might need some more information about it, here is the web address of the Fountain Valley Police Department concerning the ongoing investigation. Also, I reported Gametek to the Better Business Bureau and I am including that web address also. It made me feel just a little bit better to know that the authorities are involved and that I had a place that I could report to. If I find out any more information I will post it and I hope that anyone else that has any will post it too. I hope that things work out for all of us. Take care.

I want to tell y'all a nice story about this morning. I was in tears over learning that I was scammed - not b/c of the money but b/c of my son's disappointment. He saw me crying and I told him the story. He said to me, "Mom, Christmas is about love. I don't care about the Playstation. I hate to see your cry.." This reminded me of the true meaning of the Holiday especially coming from a 13 year old! I am going to wrap up a letter telling him how much his words meant to me and put it under the tree.
Then I received a call from a friend who knows I am a single working full-time mom who has little time (nor an extra 400.00 lying around!) to redo Christmas b/c of this scam. He asked what was on my son's "new" list. An hour later he called and had gone and gotten everything on it.

There are Santas.. There is love from our children... We need to try and remember this! Let's all support each other!

All the best....

grinsalot,

You really don't need an expensive PS2 to make your kid happy. I never even got an ancient Nintendo when I was a kid, even though I begged my parent's head off. Kids should learn that they can't have everything they want. The money my parents saved from such extravagances is what is now paying for my $22,000 per year fees at a top-10 US college.

P.S. Even I got burnt by the PS2 scam, but I paid for it from money I saved from those pay-to-surf programs

I'm very happy that you have wise parents, Mash. That is very true, of course, that no one NEEDS a PlayStation2 to be happy. I think everyone here knows that. Noone actually NEEDS a $22,000 a year college. There are cheaper ones that are very good also. It's where one CHOOSES to spend one's money that teaches us lessons. I'm sure your parents have chosen wisely for you, and I am VERY happy that you appreciate it.

Your parents chose your college education to invest in. That is ONE good choice. There are many other good choices also.

We chose to let our twelve-year-old save HIS money and buy a PS2. He learned a great lesson in saving for something he wanted. He is also, unfortunately, learning another good lesson now, courtesy of GameTek.

There are some lessons that make caring parents ache when their children learn them.

I am aching.

More news about this scam! We need coverage people. The more coverage we get, the more likely paypal will respond to this matter! Or else they will be articles about paypal not delivering on their guarantees.

It was a scam, you won't be getting your Playstation 2 but you might be getting all or some of your money back---just not right away because the police are investigating. Click the site below and have your mother fill out the form and email it to the Fountain Valley Police

http://fountainvalley.org//gametek/Default.htm

I'm so sorry to hear that you were cheated by this website, some people are not nice and it is a terrible lesson to have to learn, especially at Christmas

Awesome! I got my money back! Paypal hasn't wronged me yet. I sent a buyer protection claim on the 15th, got an email reply saying they couldn't reach me by phone, so they tell me to either call back or reply to the email. Today, on the 18th, all my money has been refunded.

By the way, I have a verified bank account and I originally paid by first transferring money to Paypal, then sent the money to Gametek. No credit cards involved.
