The Hawaii ticket is for $400 of travel. I didn't see a specific airline mentioned. price, or availability dates. These tickets are an old, old ruse. There are, however, new naive suckers coming of age every day who will buy them.

EBay knows about this, is concerned, but says they can't do anything about it... well investigative team , looks like it was all for naught...CAVEAT EMPTOR and full speed ahead...

That's a good idea. Sometimes I think ebay itself is more worried bout being scammed than their buyers being scammed.
Why don't they refund the listing fees when a buyer doesn't pay a seller and the seller jumps through all the hoops? Because ebay is afraid the seller may be scamming them for free listing fees.

So this is how it works?
Complaint : Should inform about the extra HOTEL REQUIREMENT on your auction.
Response: - Agent listing auction omitted it from the auctions. Honest mistake.
But the seller continues to list with the info omitted. Do they NARU their own accounts when feedback goes bad? How much money are they taking with each account when they nuke it? Then they just start several new ones again all verified and with the Square Trade seal of approval to show how honest they are.
Is there really an American Travel out there?
And ebay says they are aware of it and they can't do anything about it. So I guess this is all legit.........

If you look at the square trade registration numbers, they are all from the same sequence. This is true for the current and NARUed accounts.

well SURPRISE i did get my question to seller answered and here it is:
"You must book accommodations thru the travel agency 45-60 days in
advance....usually 5-7 DAYS is the minimum...the prices per night are
$79-$199 depending on seasonality and other factors....you choose the
destination!
Because my auctions are available for such a limited amount of time, I
have compiled a list of commonly asked questions that should answer most
any question you have. I am sending this in order to expedite answers to
emails.
All reservations must be made 60 days in advance of travel dates.
Here Some Answers to Common Questions:
What do I do to get the tickets?
I will send you a voucher to be completed with your name, address, who is
traveling, when and where. Send it to the travel agency along with a $20
travel document shipping fee and they will send you reservation
information in about 2-3 weeks. The $20 will be reimbursed to you when
the vouchers is sent to the agency. This 2-3 weeks is also part of the
advance notice required.
How can you afford to do this?
It's very simple. We are in a unique position to be able to take
advantage of the thousands of predetermined unsold airplane tickets and
hotel rooms available everyday. Because of large purchasing power and a
system that is set up with our company administering the trips, to
negotiate for pennies on the dollar, they are able to package the hotel
rooms at the regular rate, with the airfare for the total price of the
room rate and include the airfare for FREE. The hotels and airlines would
rather make a small amount of money through this type of arrangement,
than lose money altogether on their unsold rooms and seats. Plus they get
FREE advertising and exposure to their services.
What is the process? How do this work?
I send you the voucher, you complete it and send it to the agency and
they send you a reservation form and complete vacation and contact
information.
Do I have to pay airline taxes or anything for the plane tickets?
No, you pay nothing for the plane tickets.
Are these tickets one way or roundtrip?
They are 2 roundway trip tickets, $400 off each ticket, but can be used
as one way also. You will save more if they are roundtrip.
Is hotel stay required?
Yes. The travel agency is giving away $800 of airline tickets and the
hotel stay is the only way for the agency to make any money. Minimum
stay is usually 5 nights in US and 10 overseas. Hotel prices are $79 and
above. All hotels are 4 star and above and the price is discounted
25-40% based on the hotel you select.
Am I required to sit through a presentation?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!! This is not a timeshare arrangement.
Do I have to fly stand-by or take a red-eye?
NO!! You will receive a standard airline ticket, unless you request a
red-eye!
When can I use this vacation package?
You can use this package 365 days a year, however, as with any travel,
your reservations are based on availability. Major holidays, if
available, should be booked months in advance, as major holiday weeks may
be difficult to obtain on short notice. There are NO BLACKOUT DATES.
These vacation packages may be used any time of the year and they are
valid until January 1, 2005!
Do I have to fly out of a certain airport?
You will fly out of the same airports you normally would on any trip. All
US and most Canadian airports qualify. It is best if you can depart from
a major international airport.
Can I stay in my condominium or with family?
YES, as long as you meet the minimum stay in one of our hotels, you can
then stay anywhere thereafter.
What airline will I fly on? You will fly on major airlines such as Delta.
Can I expedite my reservation? Yes. We suggest that you book as far in
advance as possible, usually 60 days to get your destination of choice.
May I use my own travel agent?
No. All arrangements for travel using the package must be booked through
our designated travel representatives. You may feel free to make
reservations for rental cars, tours, etc. on your own, or our qualified
representatives will gladly assist you.
Will the Travel Agency assist me with other travel needs?
ABSOLUTELY! The qualified travel professionals will answer questions,
pass along helpful travel hints, and will be glad to arrange for extra
nights, tours, rental cars, etc.
How far in advance should I book my trip?
Since all travel is booked on a space availability basis, reserve your
vacation as far in advance as possible. The earlier you book, the better
your chances are for securing your desired travel dates. Reservations can
be booked up to 11 months in advance as airlines don't accept
reservations prior to that.
If I don't know who my companion will be, can I still register my
package?
ABSOLUTELY! You may provide the name of your companion at the time you
make your reservations.
Can I travel as a single passenger?
No, all reservations are based on double occupancy.
May I give away the vacation package if I can not use it myself?
Yes. It is fully transferrable.
If I register my vacation package am I obligated to travel?
No. Once you have registered your package you are not required to use it.
If you do decide to use it our travel agents will handle the rest. They
administer the ENTIRE redemption process, including arranging all air
travel & hotel accommodations.
Can I use other coupons or discounts with these vacation packages?
This package can not be used in conjunction with other hotels, cruises,
airline discounts or special promotions of any kind. Our travel agents
are not to be held responsible for any act of God, and/or any other
circumstances beyond their control, causing destinations to become
unavailable.
Can I bring my children?
Certainly. But you must buy airline tickets for them through the travel
provider and then they may stay with you in your room for FREE!
Can we leave from 2 different airports and arrive at the same one?
To qualify, both people must leave and arrive at the same airport.
Can I collect frequent flyer miles with this promotion?
Yes, you must contact the airline after the reservations are made.
We have a group of 4, can we use 2 of these packages?
Yes. Two of the packages will need to be purchased.
I am a single parent with 2 children, can I use this?
Yes, you and one child can use this package and you would need to
purchase an additional airfare for your second child.
What if I need a special meal or special seat?
Both of these can be taken care of. Once you have your reservation, the
airline will be happy to take care of any special needs.
How old do I have to be to use this package?
One person using this package must be at least the age of 18.
After I register, how long will it be before I can make my reservations?
A travel professional will contact you within 2 to 3 weeks after you
register.
How do I know how much the plane tickets would cost normally.
We recommend going to Expedia or Travelocity and checking rates.
When will you ship?
Your order will be shipped within 48 hours of payment receipt via USPS.

A friend of the family buys these things on ebay frequently and has got some great deals. She even went to Rio de Janiero for a very low cost. She just hassles the red tape and restrictions.

www.bidz.com.. has some of the same auctions..no feedback tho.... only they start at $1.00. and most go for a $1.00.
Pretty much set up the same way,,, send $4.95 shipping + auction bid, and recieve info about trips you can take... you have to pick 3 area's of travel,{ they will give you 1 of the 3 you picked.} and send in the form along with $20.00,{ which might be refunded back to you.}

If you do a search in the travel categories you will find many listings that say "You are bidding on a white envelope....." or "You are bidding on a postcard...."
