Cooking is a great passion! My boyfriend is a really good cook. Behind my back he'll add a bit of this and a bit of that to what I happen to be cooking. Most of the time it works out great. And then he tried to make homemade spaghetti sauce. Tasted like a pizza!

Snowmen, finding the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe (still looking!), Shelties, and lately - THE DOG Artlist Collection.
Have you canine lovers seen these? They have been around for a few years, originated in Japan in 2001 by a photographer with a fish eye lens. I guess there is a whole line of products but I can't find them. I did find some little 6" stuffed animals at Target and folders and notebooks at Staples. Too cute!

Toasted, your ashtrays are fab! So very unique looking.
Cheryl, (Your stuff is beautiful!) do you collect occupied Japan? I saw some today and was gonna buy it (to sell yah, right) but I thought I can't be getting into this now, too? Collector's books will be making a fortune from me!!! Though I like the Japanese stuff, I dont feel I know enough about it to sell it; especially if its not marked! "They" claimed it was occuppied Japan - how would I know if it was or wasnt?"
And that stuff, they find new pieces every month thats NOT in the books!
Anyway, before ebay I was very big on clothes and I would buy expensive name-brand stuff for work - tried to buy from the sales rack-but that didnt always happen. But I guess I did have a thing for clothes.
Other than that I cant really say I am concentrated on collecting one thing..have a small pottery collection and pick up pieces when I see them at garage sales.
I feel like I need to be in "One" thing, then maybe I could be more of an expert at it. Some days it distresses me because I know I have an "inkling" but then have to do all this research before I can list it.
Okay. End of passion story ramble. (for me)

My passions: Bargain hunting for antiques and collectibles. (Hope that doesn't make me a bottom feeder). I just love it when I can fill up the old minivan with "junk" to resell. For keeps I LOVE my perfume bottles and I also love old furniture. My next door neighbor says I have more furniture in my basement than she has in her whole house. (She's exaggerating - I think).

My passion, you ask... after the living things I love most; my husband, my sister, my sweet dog Lacy... it is collecting photographica; graphics, figures, popular images that show the place of photography and photographers in society.

Twelvepole - if your passion is cooking, I'll be right over- I hate to cook but love to eat!!!
My passion besides my hubby, kids, grandkids and of course, my dogs is Thomas Kincade and Capodimonte. Everywhere you look in my house, Kincade is on the walls and Capo is in the cabinets or anywhere else I can find a spot.

I don't collect occupied Japan. That was made mostly for export. Occupied Japan is usually marked as such. You can tell by the quality. Japan lost a lot it quality at that time. There are big time collectors out there for the stuff. Most of what I collect was never meant to leave China or Japan. I have some pieces dating to the 18th century. Believe it or not, most collectors don't find that old enough.

Carnival Glass, love it. Used to have a lot of pieces, but sold most of it on eBay.
toasted:
Is your Mom's fudge recipe a secret, if not. can you share it. Same for the coconut cake.
Family favorite recipes are always the best.

Heisey glass but I can't afford it any more. What I want is rare and lots of $$$. Advertizing goodies. The kind you send in boxtops for like the Campbell Kids and Snuggle Bear. Oh yes, tins, tins, tins, Daher, made in England, advertizing tins that came with the product inside. Perfume bottles. LOL my house looks like a collection of collections!
Chocolate chip cookie recipe, if you like them softer, add 1/2 cup extra flour to the regular Toll House recipe.

My favorite passion is collecting seeds, especially heirloom tomato seeds. If I could afford it, I would collect antique quilts.

mcjane ...I would love to share my mom's fudge and coconut cake recipe with you but hmmm it wasn't in the recipe box....I might be out myself now too if it was left at my mom's house I'm sure my dads new live in prolly trashed it along with all the other things of my moms that didn't have a dollar value.I'll keep looking for it and ask my aunt if she happens to have a copy of it.
fleecies-collecting seeds , especially heirloom tomato seeds...now thats a interesting collection.Do you buy them to like frame or do you plant them to taste they way they tasted years ago? you've peeked my interest...sounds like something that would be hard to find.

toasted: fudge and coconut--yummy. Hope you find your recipe! I definitely collect heirloom seeds to plant. Some are antique varieties with interesting histories, and some are new "designer" varieties. There's lots of cool tomatoes other than what you find at the big box nurseries. Pretty inexpensive, too--about $2 for a packet of seeds Around Feb-Mar, all I do is read obscure seed catalogs and haunt the seed racks at Wally World

Hawaiiana (what a surprise). Everything from the music, art, antiques, etc.
We leave in a couple of hours from a trade show in Las Vegas and we actually found a wholesale/distributer from the Islands at the trade show. He sold hula lamps, nodders, etc. My husband couldn't pry me away from his booth
He wouldn't let me order anything, though since there were still a lot of booths to see, but I can't wait to get home and see how some of his things are doing on ebay. I am hoping it will be a long and profitable relationship
Everytime I go to Hawaii (next trip in December for a friends wedding) I usually have extra room in suitcase for items, I buy a box to put more in to take on the plane and sometimes I still have to ship more stuff home
