Here is the address to mine.
dennis williams
10b olakunle street papa ajao
mushin
lagos
23401
nigeria
It did turn out to be a scam. When he calls, he does it through Sprints tele-communitcations relay. That is used by def people to communicate. He had asked me if I could go buy him some phones as well and send them as well. I forwarded that I do not have a connection that way.
He sent credit card info, but would not forward the name of the bank. I was insisting on the name of the bank for verification. (I was going to give the bank a call) I was calling his bluff if you will. That is when all of the communications have ended. I guess this guy figured out that I was on to him. And to top it off, he was in an extreme hurry to have the charges applied to the credit card. This was another red flag.
Maybe I should play him a little more. He was asking me to let him know when the payment went through so he could verify it. Maybe I should tell him it went through and ask him to give me a verification number. This could be worth a laugh or two.

It would be a useful idea to report cases of credit card fraud to the Interpol.
A scenario where you have a street address, even if the name is fake, should be easy to deal with. It would be easy for the police to pay the guy a visit with a parcel supposedly from you.
But you do not report the attempts to your Police or to Interpol. You use forums like this instead to make things difficult for honest Nigerian business men.
Please
1.find out who can take action in your city and make a report
2.Send the name and address of the suspected criminal to the Nigerian Embassy in your country.
3. Send his details to a Nigerian Newspaper IF YOU ARE SURE from your communications that it is a fraud case
In summary;take some positive action towards apprehending the criminal.
The link below gives an example of what could be done

To be fair, not all scammers are from Nigeria. I've had several fraudulent payments from the former soviet republics and I believe that most of the ebay/Paypal spoof emails come from there.

stonecold,
if you have a merchant account, call your merchant account provider and they will tell you who issues his credit card.
some provider has a website where members can log in with the first 6 digits of the cc number and find out .
dont waste your time on this nigerian or any nigerian order, there are better things to do in life and dont give them your bank account info.
now we have new comers reading this forum, just be discrete what you have to say.
If you dont have a merchant account provider, ask your friend who has one to find information for you.

Wow Stop,
For being my personal moron, you actually had a good idea. Not to rain on your parade, but I already thought of that. I was planning on giving them a call Monday morning if nothing else, to see if they can track down the rightful owner of the card and cancel the account. To me, it sounds like this person might not even know.

Well, I guess I made the correct call. I turned in the card number to the merchant. It was stolen as I suspected. This guy also has not tried to contact me since the weekend. It is a good thing we have these message boards so we all can learn from others experiences.
