Hi Everybody,
I could use some help with this...please
Is it possible for me to pay for another persons auction, via my Paypal account?
If I use the auction number will it show paid on the actual buyers ebay page?
Thanks :0) Maggie

Don't use the auction #.
Use quassi cash.
Write in the auction # so seller knows what it for and let them know who it's from.
I've paid for others, even used their CC through my PP acct.

Thank you Sanmar and dadofstickboy.
Dad.. by not using the auction number, it will still show unpaid on the buyers ebay page.. and as far as Ebay is concerned, it will show unpaid..correct? which I don't see is a problem, as long as the Seller is honest and doesn't claim he wasn't paid for the auction. Thanks again for your help.

I used quasi cash once & got a warning type message, but cannot remember what it was.
Probably was about some sort of charge.
If you get the same message then try Goods non auction.
I don't think eBay would have any idea if an auction was paid or not unless the seller filed for FVF.
I wouldn't worry about it.
You could enclose a note with your PayPal pmt or email the seller with the auction number & a brief explanation of how payment is being made.
Ask the seller to confirm payment & send the item insured with DC.

I have paid for auctions for other people several times, I just put it under "good other", but I am wondering if that is even necessary. Yesterday a buyer sent me their payment by Paypal, and shortly afterwards, a second payment arrived from them for a different auction, not mine at all, but using the auction # for someone else's auction. I was really surprised that Paypal let it through. Of course, I refunded it right away.

Thanks Everyone!
The buyer has emailed the seller explaining what would take place and asked if he had any objections. As soon as the seller gives the "go ahead" I will send his payment.
All this is because the buyer did not have a confirmed address with Paypal.. something to do with not changing the address on his credit card when he moved..and the Seller doesn't sell to a buyer with an unconfirmed address..which is understandable. Again many thanks for the good advice. Maggie
