I found another online program that has fabulous templates. I really like them alot and noticed that someone who copied my idea with erasing out the background on a particular pattern received more $$$ than I did. The fee is really small too. What I would like to know is can I use this company's templates with Vendio's sales management program? With this program, you can't launch off auctions at a certain time for free and they also only offer 100mb of image storage for free. I like the perks with Vendio, but I really like this other program's templates. The only thing I would use with this particular program is the templates. Is it possible to use it?

You'd have to cut and paste the html of the templates into Vendio. That should do the trick. Can you just get the templates or will you be paying for two services? I'd think about the cost effectiveness of using two services just to get templates.

Debbie -- I scanned my picture. Then, because I felt that the background was too distracting, I "erased" it using Adobe Photodeluxe. I cannot shake this other seller. She copies everything I do. Her auctions do look better than mine because of these templates. They are perfect for what I sell.
Classic -- Out of respect for Vendio, I don't want to use names as they are competition for Vendio. If you'd like to know, e-mail me at [email protected]. But, from the templates that I saw, they tend to be on the "frilly" side.

Do you mean you edit out the background of our pictures or of the template? I look at your auctions every once in a while and I find them very attractive and well done. Your template goes very will with the items that you sell. What about the wording you use in your title could you change anything.
Vendio does have a blank template for you to do your own HTML. I was listing a auction through eBay and they have some really nice ones also. I was surprised by that and I didn't realize that eBay has done that. That's what I get for not branching out.

Libra -- She copied my title. I am trying this new auction program to see how I do with it. Of course, I have spent the entire morning !!!UGH!! trying to figure out how to incorporate everything. I have a new one in my store -- #8151109302 to show you how nice the templates are. Unfortunately, I have now run into problems with Vendio's gallery. sigh ... What I mean is that after I scanned my photo and before I uploaded it, I "erased" out the background so that one only focuses on the actually outfit (and not all of the other items in the background of the image). I really like these templates that this particular program offers. The first 100mb of image hosting is free. It does take a bit more work than using Vendio's automated system, but once I have worked out all the little bugs, it shouldn't take me more than a minute or two to schedule each auction.

That is a really nice template. Why don't you e-mail Christian and ask him to take a look at it. His user ID is PirateBoy. He is the Template Man. He just might be able to do something for you.
E-mail him through customer manager though, don't post on the forum below.

Bizzy, you said:
What I mean is that after I scanned my photo and before I uploaded it, I "erased" out the background so that one only focuses on the actually outfit (and not all of the other items in the background of the image).
When I first started taking digital photos for eBay, I asked one of my neighbors, who's a professional photographer, about using Photoshop to erase the background.
Her advice was to do the simple thing - buy two pieces of posterboard; lay one flat on a table, while taping the other to a tall box to create a backdrop; and focus tightly on the item. Basically, create a little stage for your item, with the background blocked out.
She also felt that I shouldn't use Photoshop to erase the background because if someone can make it that you know Photoshop well enough to touch up the background, they might think that you've touched up the item as well. I thought that was an interesting observation.
I know the service you're talking about. I'm looking at that one, too, because they have a flat rate, yearly plan that would work better for me as an occasional seller. (I've asked Vendio whether they would consider offering something similar.)
I like Vendio's templates better, though, because a lot of X's templates are oriented towards themes, and I prefer relatively plain templates - color, but no graphics.

Your store item template looks awesome! What did you do to launch with vendio use a blank template?
I signed up for that service recently but use only with 1 time items as I didn't want to miss using vendios auto relist.

I've been so busy trying to figure everything out so that I can use these lovely templates and still use Vendio services (which I love, too). I use Vendio's image hosting and the template and then copy the HTML into a blank Vendio template. The result is I get the both of both worlds!
Debbie -- I'll contact pirateboy (I think his name is Christian) and see if he can come up with templates as lovely as these. They are really beautiful!
Roz -- These are pattern books that I am scanning and not the finished product. Sometimes pattern books pictures are too "busy" and by erasing some of it out, a bidder can focus on the actual item that can be made and not all the fluff in the background.

I checked out that template also and I like it. Beautiful colors, nice background. I personally do not like your background removed. With the one you used maybe it is okay but with your baby items I like all the little items that go along with the picture. I would be upset if someone stole my ideas but with a title it is hard as when sellers sell they try to include everything so the item can appear in different catagories. Now with a description that is different. If she is copying that you can ask her not to use it as it is against eBay's rules, that is if you can prove you wrote the descriptions first.
Is it proper to post one of her auctions for us to look at? We can probably give you a better perspective.

libra -- I would rather not draw attention to her listings. Suffice it to say that at one point, her auctions looked so much like mine that customers were writing to me and asking me if I had changed my ebay name. It is very frustrating to say the least. There is nothing I can do about it though becuase she is not copying verbatim.

Probably the only way you can put it in her template list, is by using her vendio ID with password and then you can do anything. But that gets a little sticky. Why not use your vendio email and email them to see what you can do for her. Maybe there is a way they can do it for you. Good Luck.

Hi Debbie,
That is so kind of you!!! Is is possible to e-mail it to me at [email protected]? Right now, I'm trying to catch up my work from all of the time lost yesterday. I do love the templates, but don't like what happens to my pictures when I use Vendio's image hosting. Vendio's image hosting looks better with Vendio's listings. But for some reason, it doesn't look all that great with this other site. I've put an auction out here of one of my better items to see what it closes at. If I see that it closes lower than it normally would, I would think it might be cause of the pics.

I don't think I can e-mail them to you since they are in Vendio. I did e-mail Vendio and ask if they can move them over to your list.
I also told them that they weren't as pretty as the ones I was copying from. And I asked if I gave them the site if they would look over there and see what I was going for. I'm hoping Vendio will add some more fonts and backgrounds.
On one I couldn't put in the third background. Vendio only allows two. Like I said, they are not exactly like the ones from the other site, but they are close.
Have you thought about making a logo for your store and to include in your auctions. If you don't have the software, maybe someone here will make one for you. A guy on eBay made mine for $20. Here it is:
Also, why don't you have your store banner in your auctions, so lookers can do a search of just your store items? It might bring in a lot more sales. Get them searching through your items instead of every one's.

Go into Manage Store. Then to Custom Listing Header. You can change and turn it on there.
Diane
You don't have to have a logo or banner to turn this on. It just puts the top banner of your store on each of your auctions with a search box. It will be just above you Vendio Gallery.
The guy who made my logo is gadgetsdirect2u. Look at one of his auctions. He has several that he has done in the listing. There are a lot of people on eBay would do them. But I'm sure there is someone in here that can do one for you. I'm like you. I don't have the software and didn't know how to do my own.

Aaaarrrrrrr!
Diane, it's a beautiful template indeed. I can't make an exact duplicate of their template (despite my obvious passion for piracy), but I can tell you how to build a custom Vendio template that will come very close.
Luckily, this other company's templates are structured almost exactly the same as Vendio's. Wow... what a coincidence. The only significant difference (from my point of view anyway) is that Vendio templates don't offer the ability to use a tiled image for the innermost section.
For the outer section (floral) and second section (paisley), if we don't have images that come close enough, you can always upload your own images in the Template Workshop.
Give this a shot and if you have any trouble, email me and I'll hop into your account and see if I can fine-tune it a bit.

Bizzy, that is a very nice template and auction. I was messing around with templates this morning myself. Didnt see how you could remove them if you no longer wanted certain ones in your list? I suppose its not that big a deal - you just dont use them i guess.
I am hoping maybe Christian the CAO (cute!:0) could tell me if there is such an option while the topic is on the top 10 ten list, though. I made a whole bunch I never use anymore and its kind of annoying to scroll through them everytime.

Go to My Account: Custom Templates. Highlight the one you want to delete, but don't open it. To the right under the preview is a delete button.
There are some Vendio ones that you can not delete. But you can delete all that you made and some of Vendio's.
