cashinyourcloset: "shipping" includes handling. If the consignment store is taking care of all shipping and handling then whatever they charge is up to them and any overage for handling/recoup of costs is solely theirs as well. It's not always gouging and it's certainly not shielding of income from the owner of the item.
That said, I would hesitate buying from a consignment group because of the risks of not knowing first hand what the item is.

me too ... sales are slower only because I'm slower getting listings done up ... summer puts me into low gear .... the warm weather, more family get-togethers .... if I can MAKE myself pay attention and kick into gear to do up listings, I do okay ....
