Hi everyone (if anyone is still around!!!)

Mouse - looks like the package made it in record time again! I only posted it last Thursday or Friday (can't quite remember) This is definately not the norm! They must know that you're craving your Fruity Bix Bars and put a rush job on it!

Bob - I don't know about other call centres but where I am they never use taped calls in a training environment (for new recruits etc.) I remember when I started training they used mock ups with employees acting the parts out on tape. They do use the real recordings in one on one reviews with your manager but that's as far as it goes...

Well humph! It's only taken me like 4 hours to get back online Something's up with my isp I guess. At first I thought it was the computer, but DH's wouldn't connect either.

Hi Pharlap! Maybe they did know Now let's see if mine to you takes as long as it did last time . Is customs there particularly strict?

Hi Mouse!

Not as far as I know. Apart from the last package you sent I've only ever had one other package opened (a video tape - probably checking for porn ) And I used to get a lot of parcels from overseas what with Ebay etc.

I think that yours got held up because of this foot and mouth scare. Maybe on the custom form you need to put something like: "Foodstuffs - NO SHEEP!!!"

Hi Nettak

Yep - just got here but won't be around too much longer. Feeling a little tired (gave blood today - always does that to me!)

Hello Pharlap I was wondering where you were.

I used to give blood, but since I have Ross River I can not give blood anymore, in case the virus gets passed on. They said that once the illness has been out of my system for 3 months, I can give blood again. I don't think it will ever be out of my system.

It is a good thing to do though.

Did you work today??

Sorry Mouse, I almost missed your post.

Hey guess what, the auction that I just won. I can go and pick my purchase up in the morning. The sellers are local and I have purchased off them before and they let me go to their shop and pick my things up. It is really cool because I don't have to wait for my things.

Certainly did I would normally have the next three days off but for some reason my roster has been messed up and I only get Thurs/Fri of this week off. They make up for it next week though with four days off!!! It will be like a mini holiday!

The bad thing is this type of rostering will happen for the next couple of months The four days off one week is nice but the extra hours the week before it to get them are just draaaaaaaaaaaging.....

Thanks for that Mouse! You're going to wish that you never offered Just kidding! To tell the truth I've cut right back on spending at Ebay so far this year - nothing much has grabbed me...

I wish I knew you a couple of years ago though... There have been a couple of times when I really wanted something but the seller didn't ship OS (not even when I e-mailed them and asked if they could make an exception )

Never mind, just think about the lovely mini holiday next week. LOL

My daughter is upset, because she was told that she has been put on full time at the child care centre that she is doing her traineeship through. But they stuffed her pay up and she did not get her correct pay. This would have been her first full time pay, and it is a real big deal to her.

She asked her boss about it and they just said that she will get her right pay next time. But they do not fix this pay up and she will just have to take extra time in liue of pay. Well I really do think that is unfair to the kid.

Now normally when they do a traineeship they are on a lousey pay, and she is on a very minimal wage, but they pay for her text books and her tutor ect. I just am upset for her because she was so looking forward to her first full time pay.

It is hard for her, because she is working full time and studying as well, I think that they expect a lot out of these kids' and they should pay them for the work they do.

Okay rant over.

Thank you for the offer Mouse, I may take you up on it sometime.

I have not been buying a real lot of late, but sometimes you can not go past something, and today was no exception. The bracelet that I got, was worth a lot more than I paid. So I am very happy.

Ah yes... the first payslip in any new job is always something to get excited about LOL!!!

You know what I found out today? Apparently employees who work at the Telstra call centre get 10 mins break every hour!!! We usually go anywhere between 1.5hrs-3hrs without a break! I know that doesn't sound too long but when you take call after call after call it gets very, very edgy... And it's not as if you get to take a breath before answering the next call - you hear a beep in your earpiece and they just 'drop' straight in

Crikey - I complained when I first started this job that it was too quiet (used to be able to surf the net and everything!) now it is completely the opposite - non stop! I think I liked it the other way better

I actually have purchased a lot of things from the US so I know all about the postage costs. In fact with the new hikes in rates that you just got over there, it brings you in on an almost even par with us. Cost wise that is.

I always take the shipping costs into my final price that I am willing to bid, because that really can push the cost up for us, when it has to be sent so far.

But if it is something that I really want or need I will pay whatever I have to, and not blink an eyelid at the cost. Mind you hubby very nearly has a fit sometimes at what I spend. LOL hahaha I laugh, his jaw hits the ground.

Hey Mouse??? I'm curious to know - Is the Mint Pattie the same as the ones you have over there? I was certain that you guys didn't have them but I sent one for comparison... So, what's the verdict???

I can understand what you are saying Pharlap, a lot of places do not give the correct allotted time out periods to there staff. My daughter is supposed to have 3 breaks a day as well as her lunch hour. Well let me tell you, she is lucky if she gets her lunch break. It suck.

They work under stressful conditions at times, with sick babies ect. and whiney parents who have a go at the staff at the drop of a hat. These young girls deserve the correct time out periods.

You know what is really funny, I sent Enchanted another parcel and she got her's today. It is kind of spooky that both Mouse and Enchanted both got the first parcels within a day of each other and now they get these ones' at the same time again.

The Platypus
I like the duck-billed platypus
Because it is anomalous.
I like the way it raises its family,
Partly birdly, partly mammaly.
I like its independent attitude.
Let no one call it a duck billed platitude.

Hi everyone, saw the light on and thought I'd just pop in. Jeez Netta, you must have stayed up late last night... I couldn't get any connections, so I went and watched T.V.
Connections seem fine this morning though.
Eric has just left for work, they had the hide to ring him late last night and ask if he would come in to do some work. He's going there allright!!!But if there is no money for us, he won't do the work. They offered to pay some back today - BY CHEQUE!!! Eric told them it had to be cash. Might just be having our Easter camping trip in our own backyard yet.

Bob, not meaning to discourage you, but...
we've just had our roof fixed, 26 tiles replaced and the little beggars (possums) are still having midnight parties in our roof.
Had a very bad experience last night, I went out with the torch to see if I could spot a couple and I shone the torch on a little baby possum, startled it (or blinded it) and the poor little thing fell down and killed itself... I felt like a murderer. I don't know what sort they are, nothing like your picture, mine are very very small, not much bigger than a large rat or something.
Anyway, better go do some housework and I'll check in again later.

Sorry I missed you all last night!!!!

Don't have a problem with possums here, but we do have racoons that like to try to get in the trash, and LOTS of squirrels. I am now HATING squirrels. Last year we had maybe 15 or 20 tomato plants, and didn't get a SINGLE tomato off of 'em. (they were LOADED too) Last night the hubby was raking some leaves back up around the trees, and a little baby squirrel lept out and up the tree - almost gave him a heart attack! *LOL* I don't think I've ever seen him move that fast! He didn't know WHAT it was! ROTFL

I'm with you Netta - if I REALLY want it, I'll PAY! I'm sure I've pissed off a few people in my time! (on eBay) (well, and in RL too, I'm sure!) LOL Freaked the hubby out a couple of times, too! I had bid on this opal and tanzanite ring, but when I got it it was warped from sizing, so I sent it back. Now that ring was $400. I saw another one from the same guy that just ended. It was one of those "I've GOT to have it!" rings. VERY cool. (16.5gm of 18k gold with opal & onyx inlay) So, I asked him what his reserve was on it, and he said it was $900. I told him I wanted it. (this was back when I actually had money)(inheritance) Well, he ended up relisting it. I e-mailed him asking why he did that, as I just TOLD him I wanted that ring. He apologized, stopped the auction, and let me have it for $600! So, I sent him his additional $200, and got the ring. Told the hubby all of this, but for some reason the "additional" didn't sink in - he thought I paid $200 for this ring. It wasn't until I was telling my sister about it, that he was like "ADDITIONAL?!?"

To this day, it's still my favorite ring. (besides my wedding set) Reminds me of a stained glass window.
