Hi Spaz, sorry I was sick yesterday and missed being able to post to your amnesty thread. I thought your idea of a general amnesty by AW for all suspended posters was a great idea. I'm all in favor of it.

Just wanted to express my support and hope AW will think about it. Some might choose not to take AW up on it, but I hope some would choose to return and chat with us.

It could be a healing gesture for all on the part of AW.

Hello, Enchanted!

As an admonished poster, I can understand the reluctance that some
posters may feel about returning. So, I doubt that many will accept
this kind of offer if it is extended.

That is, without a policy change by Auction Watch.

I understand that moderation cannot be discussed here.

So, I hope that you are successful in your attempt to make all posters
welcome.

Good Luck!

Helen

enchanted, I'm up late. Been trying to get possums out of the roof. (Thet are similar to your raccoons).
I've got one big one up there who has taken to pulling up the roof tiles and throwing them down onto the garden!

Bob, Downunder but never down.

I'm working on taxes today. I'd rather be
chasing possums!

It has been kind of boring here lately. I guess what I don't understand is I have never been warned even and I thought I said some outrageous stuff for most peoples tastes. I guess the difference is I never come down on AW. But then I would not sit in someones kitchen and bad mouth them even if I thought it was well deserved. It is just not polite to do that. It you are that unhappy with AW I guess it makes sense to go elsewhere and post your complaint off their system. We have the freedom to complain about eBay here. I suppose you could do the opposite and discuss any complaints about AW on an eBay board. I just never went back to eBays boards after one quick look because they seemed so shallow. I can't blame them for not wanting to have their system used to promote competition. They could be a little thicker skinned about internal criticism - but maybe y'all wore them down - people do get pretty nasty with the posts at times.

I missed the grande finale on yesterdays thread by Spaz, and perhaps it's a good thing?

All in all I think it's a good idea, but I also doubt many [if any?] of those that have been banished would return.

This place is going down hill fast .........

Given that several members have expressed support for the idea of offering suspended members the opportunity to come back en masse, no questions asked, no e-mail required, I hope that AW will grant us the courtesy of a reply one way or the other.

I don't agree reddeer. I don't think that the people 'left' are chopped liver , (although it would be nice to have some of them return.)

I don't believe in Amnesty and I hope AW doesn't either... and besides they maybe posting already so what good would an amnesty do?

From what I have been reading other places, looks like those who were banned wouldnt come back anyway. Good idea, though.

Forever is a long time to ban sombody from anywhere. But regardless of the merits of the amnesty concept, it seems to be predicated on the assumption that AW is willing to pay attention to suggestions from members of the community here. I haven't seen a whole lot of evidence supporting that assumption. Just an observation.

yup gaffan. I haven't expected much of a response and didn't get one. I still think there's some value in presenting positive ideas though regardless of the reception, or lack of acknowledgement.

I never give up my bright and shiny goals though. Those belong to me.

Enchanted, I quite agree with the attitude... certainly didn't mean to get between you and your windmills; I know how I feel when somebody gets between me and mine.

(just in case: no sarcasm at all intended in the above, guess it could be read either way)

LOL, gaffan you read me like a book, I've definitely got my favorite windmills I occasionally take the time to tilt at.

I think I took your remarks in the pleasant spirit they were intended, gaffan, you're ok ya know?
