Well I just got back from picking up my new purchase. I have to tell you that I am just over the moon with this buy.

Zilvy, sorry I did not mean to twist your arm and make you speeel rite. LOL We will all have to go back to spelling class next week.

Tigerlady, That is some ring. WOW
As far as husbands are concerned some of them are just thick.

The ring looks like it is a very solid piece of merchandise.

Just got off the phone with talking to Netta, and I'm just about to go to e-bay and look for something for myself. With what I've been thru lately, I think I deserve a trinket or two for myself.
Hope I can get a bargain like you all seem to do. The opal ring looks beautiful!!!

If something costs $200, my hubby only is told that it cost $100. Just like any new clothes that are in my cupboard - I'm always saying that I 've had it for ages!!!

"Rickie Lake" on the t.v. at the moment, gotta go, sounds interesting and I'll see you all tonight.

I'm still mucking around on the computer so thought I'd drop in here before I logged out.
Hey Hepburn, would gladly send you some Tim Tams, what flavour would you like? They've got caramel flavoured ones as well. My cupboard always has packets of Tim Tams, one biscuit is just NOT enough!!!!!!
Like the t.v. ad - I've got a packet of Tim Tams that never runs out... .
My dear hubby eats a whole packet to himself in one sitting, and I'm the one who puts on weight!!!!

Goodbye again.......

Hey Kazanne! Been there, done that! There's been a "few" items that it was like "oh, I just haven't worn it in a while..."! (yeah, THAT'S it!)

Netta, here's a site for you:

http://www.amused.com/links/link.php?link=http://www.pcola.gulf.net/~irving/bunnies/

I think with the recent "peeps incident" you'll get a kick out of it!

I'll be signing up for the UBB class, please!

Kazanne, I would love chocolate timtams. A friend sent me a few and I thought I died and went to heaven. Chocolate cremey center of the biscuit. YUM! Do you have an email I can contact you at?

Tigerlady - great link!!! I was ROTF reading the part about the ants!!

I have no idea what these things are but I'm determined to see if I can buy some tomorrow (if I can find them) to satisfy my curiosity

Pharlap those Peeps scare me .

You know what our Marshmallow Bunnies are like, the ones we make ourselves......well they are nothing like them. These things have a sugary stuff on the outside of them, and the sugar is really funny tasting, and the mallow is unlike anything I can remember. So I can not really describe it to you, but be afraid.

Tigerlady ROTFLMAO. Thank you for the link. hahaha

Hi Hepburn, welcome to our party room. Come in and see us anytime day or night, there is always someone still hanging on ready to party. LOL

Hepburn, hope to hear from you soon. Maybe oneday, I'll get you to send me over one of your favourite biscuits from there.

Netta, got a favour to ask you - Eric and I are leaving lunchtime tomorrow and be back about Monday lunchtime. Could you phone our lovely son on maybe Saturday arvo and have him over there on Sat. night, he may have already made plans with the girlfriend but I'd feel better knowing that he hasn't spent the whole 4-5 days at home here.
Talk to you all later.

Sure thing Kaz, I think the boys' already have made plans. They will not starve I will feed the lot of them, and I am sure that they will want to be close to home for when the Easter Bunny arrives.

You know that other problem child, the one with the freckles, I am hoping that he will not be over, but I know my hopes are going to be in vain.

Bob Did you get your roof fixed yet??

Is the weather still cool down there, we have had some really warm days up here and it is hard to imagine that winter is not too far away. It is funny, I was talking to a client of our's yesterday and he was telling me that the establishment that he works in only lights the fire for the first time on the 1st of June, no matter how hot or cold it is they light it then because it is officially winter. LOL Then they finishing burning on the 31st of August, because that is the last day of Winter. Well too bad if the 1st September is freezing, I guess all the pollies and upper crust have to freeze.

I just thought I would tell that little story because it sounds so stupid it has to be true. Especially as it involves our esteemed Politicans. LOL

I can't stand it Hepburn and Mouseslayer live on the other side of the states and I'll never get to borrow a tim tam or pavlova. Netta I am going to have to save my pennies so I can taste this good stuff first hand. I didn't think I would make it tonight I really was tired....but couldn't sleep. So I'll drop back and see if anyone else shows up.

Oh Zilvy, you need an Aussie partner to share delights with! Maybe Bob would be so kind? Just remember, we all share Bob ya know LOL

Good evening (morning?) everyone! I'm in for a bit, but am already geting sleepy...

I finally got Pharlap's package ready to go today (since I ended up staying up til 4pm, more than 24 hrs ). The good news is, I was able to put it in a smaller box The bad news is, judging how heavy it feels I may fall over from a heart attack at the post office when I get the bill! LOL I'll let you know when it's on the way my friend!

Hey Mouse

Looking forward to my goodies!!! I know what you mean about the postage costs though - from what I've heard your rates over there are about the same as ours now for international packages

I'm still at work for a bit over an hour. It's amazing that it has been quiet today - it's been so hectic every other day.

If I disappear for a while you will know that I'm stuck on a call...

Just popping in for a sec before I go to bed - the 'ol eyelids are getting VERY heavy! (and so are the fingers, I can't type worth a crap!)

OK - I need an Aussie Partner, too! So who's it gonna' be? You guys have access to asian goodies? There's a store the hubby recently introduced me to that's got some good stuff. I like the "pocky chocolates" best! They're thin cracker sticks dipped in chocolate. The "snow pea crisps" are good, too. They're a light airy puffy snacky thingy. (kinda' hard to explain, can ya' tell?) LOL Which reminds me of the banana flavored corn puffs. (kinda' like cheese puffs, only banana)

This is my last message for a few days, we're off camping for 5 days over Easter.
Hope you all have a great one, get lots of little and not so little easter eggs, have a few drinks and enjoy the break.
I've even packed a few packets of TIM TAMS to take with us - I'll have one for all of you.
Bye for now, I'll miss the chats -

Hi everyone, I have just come in from a wonderful shopping trip. I was in the baby section and boy I could go crazy in that place.

Well I am not in for too long tonight as I have a heap of things to do and I seem to be running out of time. I have to get a whole lot of tax things done that the accountant want done, like yesterday.

My daughter just came in and told me that I have now purchased far too much for her new cousin and I am not to buy anything else until after the baby is born. hehe I just won't tell her. LOL

You know what a funny thought I had today, I actually like the thought of seeing white fleecy nappies (diapers) flapping in the wind on the clothes line. LOL Call me crazy, who in there right mind would want to do that all over again once they had been through it. I must be getting granny clucky or something, and this is not even a grandchild. Oh well a baby is a baby, and for me any baby will do. LOL

Thanks for that Mouse. I appreciate it.

Gosh I was thinking that you went again today, to the torture session, sorry I didn't mean to wish that on you two days in a row. LOL

Are we all on our own tonight, Pharlap must have gotten held up on a call, and heaven only knows where Bob is tonight, the possums might be holding him prisoner.

Hi Pharlap, glad you are finished work, and can talk without nasty calls.

yes Mouse, the possums can be really cute, but they are a pain if they get in your roof. The can sound like a herd of elephants running up and down, and when you first hear them, you sometimes may have to change you pants and bed because they can scare the living bejebbers out of you. LOL

Yes - 'Nasty' being the operative word... had a few nutters towards the end of my shift

Anyone have a good cure for hiccups???

posted on April 11, 2001 04:44:25 AM new
Do you have hiccups Pharlap? Okay this may help, we had spanish neighbours in our old house and they told me to do this and sometimes it has worked, although it may be just a fluke at the time.

here go:

Put your thumb and your forefinger up to your temples and with your thumbs resting on your cheeks gently massage your temple with your forefinger. The action is supposed to be firm but soothing, and after a short while the hiccups are supposed to be gone. Now it may help to hold your breath while you are doing it anyway it could be worth a try.

Ok, the verdict is in on the mint pattie! They are very similar to our York Peppermint Patties. The minty part in yours is a little bit chewier than ours, ours melts in your mouth more.

Poor little Pogo, I didn't realize just how much she missed Mommy's lap when I was on the other computer. She's been on my lap almost nonstop since I'm back in the office. She just purrs and purrs and looks so content! See, the chair space on my desk is very narrow and since my chair has arms I can pull up all the way. Therefore I make a perfect lap for her t sit on. Out in the dining room I could pull up to the table al the way so there was no room for her. But she got desperate and would get on my lap under the table. But it wasn't as comfy and she didn't usually stay long...
