We have a holiday today as it is Good Friday in our part of the world.

Zilvy, I've got day lillies everywhere!
I've picked them up allover the place. I don't have a clue what they are all called but we usually have different ones in flower right from early spring to now (mid autumn).
We just chuck 'em in and away they go.
I've also got some great turks cap lillies that are multicoloured. Brilliant red outside and yellow inside. Some of by other favourites are the Scarborough lillies and the Jacobeans. They come up every year and never let us down.
Bob, Downunder but never down.

Well I will wish you a goodnight Bob and Zilvy, I hope you have a lovely day. You can get my email off Mouse if you want. I will be happy to send you somethings from Australia.

We have tomatoes growing in the rose beds and all sorts of things that aren't normally planted together.
What I often do in the early spring is just get a load of different packets of seeds and mix them all up together and just scatter them around with a bit of compost. It always seems to work out just fine. a lot of it is self-seeding so things mainly lookafter themselves.
Even with the dahlias. We never bother lifting the tubers. We just chop 'em down towards the end of autumn and leave them to their own devices. We get them in flower about the beginning of December and we're still picking them now!

Well, Bob, I like your method of gardening, sort of Nature's natural selection...if they are hardy they'll make it. Sometimes I think when you try too hard you over do a good thing and kill them with kindness. That Turk's cap lily sounds wonderful...I always liked those...when our daylilies come into flower I'll post some pictures, we have dwarf and standard, recurve petals, multicolor, super tall etc., no end to them.
Nettak you are such a sweetie, Mouse hasn't sent an email yet but I will get your addy and be in touch...thank you. I hope you have a lovely Easter and that the Bunny remembers the Mom too....(NO MORE PEEPS!)

Well, I haven't made it back to bed yet So I popped in to see if anyone was still about. Hi Zilvy! I'm sorry, I dropped the ball. I was supposed to email you yesterday but I have your addy on the old hunk o' junk and I seem to have an aversion to it now...So if you could pop me an email, I will be glad to get you two connected!

Hello Zilvy & Mouse, this is a bit like a touch tag game of getting in touch. LOL
Zilvy, I look forward to hearing from you.
I am going down to the nursery today, and having a look for some new plants. I will ask them about the plants that both you and Bob mentioned. I also have an assortment of day lillies and they are beautiful. I do not have them in just one spot, they are mingled throughout my gardens and I even have some sprinkled in between plants coming up the driveway. One of my favourite flowering plants, apart from roses are Agapanthus, I love them in both white and purple/blue, they look so majestic standing so proud in the garden. You know the funny thing, I tenderly care for mine and wait for them to thicken up and grow, and one of my sister's has them growing wild in her back yard, and she doesn't do a thing to them. I should just go and dig all hers up, and bring them home with me. LOL

Hi Netta, Zilvy and I got together this morning so you have probably heard from her by now! Going and digging up your sister's sounds like a grand idea! Maybe this fall I'll feel well enough to get out there and start working on my garden and the three of you greenthumbs can help me out. Just remember, I live in the desert and the summer is very harsh on plants here. It also doesn't get very cold in the winter. Maybe a dozen or so freeze warnings for the whole winter, give or take. So while you're all out at the nurseries, you can ask about heat loving plants for me.
I have to go, it's Survivor time! I'll check in later this evening. Hubby wants to drag me off to the store after the show...

The boys' are just fine, thank you for asking. They were up bright and early, god know how, because they could not possibly have had enough sleep. LOL
We took Kazanne's son home at lunch time, he was seeing his girlfriend tonight, and he has to work tomorrow morning (part time job), he will be back tomorrow because the easter bunny is on his way. LOL
You should see these two boys' in action, they think they are king .... and they can get anyone to do whatever they want. My son collects girls phone numbers like they are going out of fashion and kaz's son thinks he just has to grin and he can have whatever he wants, and in both cases they usually do get there own way. They are two very good looking guys' and they know it.

Yes you could say that.
How did your father go with the doctor today? Is everything alright?
So how was your day and what did you do?
I had a lazy day, we did not do too much, it has been cool and overcast, with just a sprinkle or two of rain. I even put the fire on for the first time last night, it was cold after going in and out with the boys' and even my husband, who is the original nature boy was feeling the cool change.

Well, they forgot his oxygen, so they zipped him in and zipped him out. Mom was going to meet him there, but he was already gone before she got there. Yes, the kneecap is broken, but they're just going to keep him in the brace for 6 weeks and put no weight on it. Still no news on whether we're going to move him to a different home. I guess we're at a wait & see right now.
I had torture session today. Ity's always fun to be turned into a pretzel! Then DH and I went shopping this evening and I got lucky. We've been needing a new phone for awhile because our has died. So we've been all sharing one cordless and no one ever knows where it is! I'm really picky about phones too. So they had one I liked, in a nifty green color and on sale for $10! I didn't think I'd get one for double that price, so I bought 2. So now I can have a phone at my desk again...that is if I can find a spot for it! LOL

Your poor dad that must be causing him some considerable pain, and your poor mum she must be at her wits end not knowing if she is coming or going.
That was really good luck about the phone, you were lucky to get such a good deal. I never seem to be jonny on the spot when a bargain come along, I always seem to be 2 shops away and someone else gets the good deals.

I don't usually get lucky on deals either, but someone liked me today! Kinda like that day when I got all of those clothes so cheap...

Oh thank you, you're such a sweetheart! I'm not sure if I like lamb though, it's just not something I grew up eating...

Well Mouse I have 3 desks in my office and they are all full of papers and printer, phones, fax machine, message boards ect. My husband is always complaining about the mess in here, but I can usually find what I need. LOL
I usually clean it up once a month and then watch it grow again. I don't know how it builds up so fast. I even have a big filing cabinet and other files but I always seem to end up with the stuff spread over the desks, all 3 of them.

I am sitting in here listening to The Wild One. Suzi Q....... she is just fantastic, and the older I get the more memories her music brings back to me. LOL

Well you can't see it, but to the left is my filing cabinet with the scanner on top (you can just see a corner of the scanner). Plus I have all of those drawers on top of the desk. So I definitely know what you mean! I hate it when DH or Mom starts moving it around. I know where almost everything is, or at least what pile it's in!
Part of my problem is my desk is a rather old, and small one. I need a big desk! I used t have one, but I left it at home when I moved out, not enough room in my new place. Now it's Mom's and in the same room as mine is. I should've taken a pic of hers too
As a comparison, here's hubby's desk (the dining room table ). This was taken right before he got my computer back up, so we were sharing.

It does not have to be anything valuable, or particarly pretty, or even modern. I was just thinking today that if I had a fire what would be the first thing to get out apart from my photos' animals and the kids' of course. Anyway, the thing I would save is my gramophone, and my leather lounge.
The Gramophone is a big horn type, my father gave it to me, he collected and restored these for many years. He first started to collect when my sister was killed in a car crash and it took his mind off things for a while. I have always loved this particular machine, I do have another one as well and it is also beautiful but the horn machine is special and will be handed down the line one day. I would probably risk my life to save it.
