I have to get myself organised because I have to go over to the accountants on Tuesday and take all my stuff with me. I thought that we could just send it from one system to another, because that is the way the sofeware is made, but he doesn't want me to do it that way.. It might have made my life a little bit easier to do it that way, but not to worry, we will just make the nice Mr Accountant's life a bit easier for him, because we are not as busy as he is.
At least that is how he seems to think at times. Don't get me wrong he is a very good accountant, as a matter of fact I used to work with him many years ago up until I started having the kids'. He just forgets what real life is about sometimes, and I am about to remind him that I am busy as well, and I think it is time we tried something else, other than me running over there all the time. If he needs to know anything he can phone, after all that is what phones are for.

nettak, At last things are moving very quickly with the pending assault case that my youngest boy was the victim of.
We've just had the police around here finalising victim impact statements.
Apparently there has already being two pre-hearings and the guy has pleaded guilty. Because of this my boy does not need to go to court.
The sentencing is due to be given a week on Friday and apparantly the siiting magistrate is a hardliner who has a reputation for handing out maximum jail terms.
The magistrate is upholding every charge and despite efforts from the guys solicitors would not budge in settling for lesser offence arguments or dropping any of the list of charges.
Lets hope that this will soon be all over.

Bob that is wonderful news. I hope everything works out well for your son.
It will be fantastic if he does not have to go to court, that in itself can be a stressful time.
Now do you know how to find a site on 2up, I don't have a clue where to look for it. I tried all sorts of things but came up with a big fat 0.

nettak, I just don't believe this. I have been all over the net trying to find a Two up site.
Like you I've come up with zilch.
I did get one site up that held out some hope but it turned out to be a porn site.
Took me half an hour to get out of it!!!!
I can't ever remember playing it the way they did.

Thanks for trying guys, I appreciate it. I just wanted to show them what it was, but I have no idea how to explain the game to anyone.
Pharlap what did you end up getting?? Yes I agree that a lot of things can go for tooooooo much money. But then you have other times when you will get something valuable for a song. Those are the days I really like.

How is your dad today??

Cyber daydream eh? You know we're supposed to be sharing Bob!
Dad's doing better today. They took him off the ventilator. The sooner they get him off of that, the better. But DH seems to be concerned about it for some reason (his mom had the same thing as Dad does). But, we haven't met with the doctor yet, so we don't have the whole picture. I just hope we can get him straightened out and set up in that nursing home before I go back to work so Mom doesn't have to deal with it alone, and I don't have to worry while I'm trying to remember how to do my job.
You know, with all of the computer problems and now isp problems, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm going to get any auctions up and running before I go back to work! I was hoping to have some ending already. Oh well, the best laid plans...
How was your day?? What time is it there? I can never seem to figure out the difference.

It is about 6pm over here on a Wednesday night.
We did not do a real lot today, it is Anzac Day so everything is shut. We only have certain things that are allowed to open on Anzac Day, the pub being one of them. The diggers and families usually gather for a drink after the march and services. The march is a beautiful thing to see, the old diggers are so proud and a lot of little ones join in as well, some of them wear their grandfathers medals or some just march along side granddad or maybe in some cases great granddad. This year was a bit different because the troops from Timor were included in the March and most of them are very young, I mean in there teens and early 20's. They are just so young, but I suppose that is what they have trained for.
I am glad your dad is doing a bit better, you know they will not just take him off the machine. I am sure that they will do it gradually, at least that is what they do over here.
I am sure your mother will be just fine, she must be a strong lady to have come this far.

Ok, explain what a digger is. I meant to ask the other day and forgot to. I think it's very cool that you have a holiday that is that important to your country. The holidays here are becoming less and less of a special thing, even Christmas.
Yes, Mom is a strong lady, but she's had to take care of 4 dying people now. But this time it's her husband of almost 40 years, so you can imagine it's very hard on her emotionally and physically. But we're here and we're helping.

A digger is another name for our soldiers, especially the older retired soldiers. They were called diggers in the early wars.
I think if you have a look at the links in the Anzac thread it will tell you the full story.
These days the word digger is almost like a mateship it is said by many people and not always to someone in the army. It is just one of those great Aussie words that is used by many, but the original meaning was another name for our troops.
Wow your poor mother has really been through emotional times hasn't she. I am sure that she will come through all of this with flying colours. I know it is hard for her to cope with her husband of so many years fading away before her eyes, but we all have an inner strength that seems to find its way to the surface in times like this and give us the strength to go on with life.

I'll have to go read the story because I'm wondering how they became to be called diggers.
Mom keeps telling us that when Dad is gone, she's going to go on a retreat for at least a month. To grieve, recover, whatever. I'm sure she'll need it. I just hope that her health holds out!

Hi everyone. Tis a lovely night tonight.
Dear hubby had to work all day today - on ANZAC Day!!! Public holiday for everyone else it seems. Hardly any shops open in my area today (As scarce as rocking-horse manure). I'm out of ciggies, OMG what am I to do. Guess I'll just have to go across the road to the pub and buy some. I'm not staying to play the pokies though - lost my last weeks winnings on them last night.
Netta you'll have to tell me what pizza things my son ate last night - he loved them and wants me to buy some.

Mouse , CYE. http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au/Visiting/Memorials/army.htm
Just in case you can not find the right link for the diggers, this link will show you that they have been called that for a very long time. The original diggers had to dig there way into the trenches to survive, our soldiers have been called many things over the years but the term digger has outlasted any other name for our fighting men and now women. This term will endure through time, and the tradition will be carried on for many years to come I am sure, it has already lasted some 90 odd years.

Yep. I know the ones. How is it that everytime he comes back from your place, he tells me about what good stuff he gets.
Ummmmm. Where am I going wrong?
Well, he had a good feed from me tonight, Lamb chops, mashed potato, cabbage, honeyed carrots and green beans - and then had the hide to go to his bedroom and eat one of the easter eggs you gave him, he's got a fridge in his room, stashed with goodies.
