Hi Mouse, thanks for the thought, but I don't think they would like to fly me out of Australia either. But it could be fun to try. haha
Yes we did have a funny day, and yes I could report him. Maybe I will, maybe I won't, I don't know yet. I don't have a problem with someone getting that little bit off the government, but I do have a problem with them pulling the guts out of legit business dealers and undercutting our prices and then just pocketing the lot and not paying one cent in tax. You bet I have a problem with that one little detail. I am going to talk to our accountant about it and see what he says. We got audited by the tax office a couple of years ago and everything was fine, but it makes you wonder how people like this never get audited. How do they explain where they got the money to buy a new car ect.
Hello Kazanne, sorry you have been drowned out by the noise level across the road from you.
posted on April 26, 2001 05:17:06 AM newNetta Are you having any trouble with your computer being slow tonight? Mine is taking far too long and I'm sorry to say, but if it keeps up - I'll be logging off for tonight. I'll end up throwing it across the room!!
DH having more problems at work - this time with the new investor, he has many demands and expectations, none which are logical, practical or economical.
posted on April 26, 2001 05:17:35 AM newMouse if Australia was one of the places on that trip list, I would say that there would be nothing to think about. We would expect to see you over here. Just think of the fun we could all have together, and how tempting is it to imagine Bob running starkers through the rain to get to the tent. LOL

No Kaz, mine is not slow tonight. I would say it could be your server, but we have the same one and mine is okay. It may have something to do with the weather, how bad is the rain at your place, it has slowed down a bit over here, but it may start again soon.
What is happening with his work, it doesn't surprise me that the investor is causing trouble. I still do not think it is completely on the up and up, these investors will want more than just a drop of blood for putting up the money.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you! They finally found out that yes, Dad does have an infection and what type it is. So now it's being treated correctly! Also, there were going to move him tonight to a different room. When he was admitted, the only bed available was a post-op recovery area. Gotta love it when the hospitals are full!
posted on April 26, 2001 05:36:51 AM new
Well at least now they can treat you dad with the correct things to make him more comfortable. That is really good news, don't you think.
Kaz Did you just see the footy show, they had the chief Paul Harrigan singing a song to the tune of New York New York, but instead he was saying Newcastle, Newcastle. It was a scream, and then they had Sterlo and Fatty singing some other song in there usual idiot selves. I just love watching those guys. LOL

The target on my wall is looking pretty good at the moment for this damned computer!!! I think it's getting slower. It's raining here fairly steadily, quite a bit of lightning and a little thunder.
This new investor wants DH to only charge per job (we are to bear the costs of the petrol, time to get there and back, wear and tear on the vehicle and the use of his own tools) It works out that he could be earning the massive sum of around $25.00 per day - I don't think so!!!! He also wants DH to take out insurance ( in case of shoddy work and someone gets hurt) As DH said, he wouldn't mind paying the insurance, if he was assured of a regular weekly wage and on a minimum of 4 hours a day. Somehow I don't think this business relationship will last.

Somehow I can see Eric telling them where they can shove there job......and it may not be very polite either. LOL
If you have a lot of lightning, get off you computor and turn it off. Just in case of a lightning strike. My sister's computor blew up when their house got hit by lightning last year, so be careful. If it is really bad, than you had best turn the machine off for now.

I think it's very good news!
Well gang, it's almost 6am and I have to be up at a reasonable hour (you know, before 5pm ), so I'm going to have to call it a night. See you all tomorrow!

Rain and everything has stopped now. I'll stay on for a bit longer, if I don't come back and chat, don't think I'm being rude.
Eric is almost at boiling point with this
d-head - I'd love to meet him myself but Eric doesn't think that would be a very good idea, with my temper and all.
Actually, the other boss rang him tonight and said something about getting rid of the new investor, he reckons legally he has 60 days to decide if he wants him in the business or not. As I've said before, I won't hold my breath.

Ok, I've been instructed by my husband to ask you Aussie folks what spanky means/is? Also, my mom wants to know if you've heard of a product called Nads (sp?)? (hair remover)
posted on April 27, 2001 01:19:48 AM new
I am sure that Bob can answer the first part of your question.
As for Nads, ouch, hurty and does not really work that well. What more can I say. LOL I am on my way out the door and just stopped to answer your question Mouse. Will talk to you later.
posted on April 27, 2001 02:47:51 AM newNads is a total waste of money, been there done that. I hate using epilady, tried nads and gone back to shaving!!.
Had a real bad afternoon, I talked to Netta on the phone this afternoon, my hubby was involved in a 12 car pile up this afternoon, he phoned me from the scene to let me know he was O.K. but the car is a bit of a write off.
When he finally got home, I nearly died, when I saw the damage to the car. Worst of all - the car in front of him was a Jaguar, brand new with the plastic still on the seats!!! DH estimates the damage to the Jag will be about AU $18,000, luckily we have insurance. The bloke behind DH's car was not insured. I can see we are going to be in a battle to get any money out of him to fix our car. My hubby has come home in shock, hurt his back and now we are in complete shock - what do we do now?

Depending on your insurer, they may be prepared to take on the driver who ran into the rear of your vehicle, despite the fact that he was uninsured. Some companies will do this. I know that mine will.
I'm not sure how things work in Queensland but if normal vehicle registration includes compulsory third party cover for personel injury, you may well be able to claim compensation and medical expenses from the state run insurance scheme.
In any event, work closely with your insurer and explore all avenues and options open to you.
In the meanwhile, insist that your husband receives a medical examination, despite the fact that he may say he's ok. It will strengthen your credibility in the event that a claim can be made against the uninsured driver, even if it be a civil one.
If you are a member of a motoring organisation, eg RACQ, also seek their advice.
What may right now seem problematical to you, will be issues that such institutions will be well equipped to deal with.
Hope this helps.
Bob, Downunder but never down.

Just had to add, that OUR utility is very badly damaged, but I think the new Jags are made of plastic, one bump and it's all crumpled!!!

Opps! That'll teach me for reading too quickly!
Bob brings up a good point though - the other driver would have to have CTP insurance as part of their rego so you should be able to get them to pay up.
