I hate to say it, but I have to get to bed. It's already
4am and I have a lot of phone calls to make tomorrow.
Netta, let me just say it's so bad that both Mom and
hubby said maybe it's time for a lawyer. And neither of
them knew the other had said it! All of the screw ups
are costing me several thousand dollars. We are on the
verge of losing the house, car and utilities if this
doesn't get straightened out soon! Wish my luck
tomorrow, I have to kick some major butt!

We must have been posting at the same time.

I am sorry that things did not work out as
well as you wanted them to. Maybe your
mother and husband are right and you should
see a solicitor. Check it out at least, you
never know what might help.

Goodnight Mouse. Sleep well.

Where is everybody? Oh sure, the first time in an age when I am up
late and nobody is about. Was it
something I said??
Netta dear lady you certainly
have had your share of rough goes...
what with your Mum and Sister. That
has to be really hard on someone like yourself who is obviously a very caring upbeat person. God bless you for
being who you are...glad I've had the pleasure of getting to know you.
Well, I'll check back in a bit,
if no one turns up I'll have to go
to bed.

Mouse - did you have a better day today???

Actually, yes I did. I talked to someone with at least
half a brain today! Now I know why some things happened,
not that they still make any sense, and what needs to
happen still. It's nice to have a clear idea on what I
need to do. Not that I feel I should be having to do
all of their damn legwork!

I'm glad you're here Pharlap! I wanted to ask you if
you were the one who had the scared mouse gif I used
to have on my web page. I looked for it earlier in
our old thread, but couldn't find it. I have no idea
where I saved it and would like to again.

Thats great! I don't mind you being a little slow to respond. I'm a little slow tonight as well - I have a cold

If I call in sick tomorrow it will look really bad though. I've just had four days off so they might think I'm trying for a mini holiday... I think I'll go in just so they can see that I'm sick and maybe they'll send me home.

LOL, you have a point there!

Well, it seems a simple letter was mistaken as my appeal.
I got a phone call the other day saying I had an
appointment with a doctor I'd never heard of and didn't
even know why I had one! It seems that simple letter
got forwarded where it shouldn't have and someone took
it upon themselves to start my appeal. All it was for
was so that my plant was informed I hadn't been released
to work by my doctor. But it didn't have any supporting
statements for the appeal. They're idiots! And like
I told the appeal office today, I shouldn't have to
go see this other doctor now, as my doctor is releasing me
already. She said I had a point. There's some other
details that were cleared up too on how I need to
proceed to get back to work. The one bad thing is
because I'm still waiting on a letter from my doctor for
my appeal, I won't get the part-time disability
pay until after they've done the appeal. In other words,
yes I can go back to work part time (as long the plant
approves it), I will just get paid the hours I work.
If everything had been correctly and I hadn't been
denied back in February, I'd get supplemental pay
for the hours I didn't work to make up the 40 hours.

Did any of that make sense or are ya sorry you asked? LOL

LOL! Yes it makes sense in a round about way

So once approved you will get back pay for the supplement hours that you should have been paid up until that point?

 MouseSlayer

posted on May 4, 2001 03:19:40 AM new
Yes, if the appeal is approved, and I don't see why it
wouldn't with my doctor supporting it, I'll get full
disability pay back to 2/20 (65% of my reg. pay) and
then the supplimental pay for the part time hours. That
is no small chunk of change! I just hope my doctor hurries
(considering I asked him for it 3 weeks ago) and
they hurry to approve it. We are so far behind in our
bills it's not funny. That's the one thing that drives
me the most nuts, this benefit is there for us employees,
but we have to kick and scream to get the pay months later
when we're about to lose homes, cars and utilities.
I don't think that's very cool. It puts a lot of stress
on me and my family. It doesn't help me get any better
faster. I feel so sorry for the ones who are in the
hospital for months and can't make all the phone calls
I've had to. I shouldn't have to be making them!

It might help if I explain that we have 3 different
categories of disability pay. There's short-term, which
is for less than six months of leave. Then long-term,
that kicks in automatically after you've been out for
longer than 6 months, which I have been. Then there's
the rehab benefit. That's for when some one comes back part
time to start off, because they can't handle a full shift.

The short term was no problem. The long term was approved
for a short time, but denied past 2/20. You have to
be considered totally disabled to qualify for it. That's
where mine got hung up, too long to explain. I'm trying
to go back under the rehab benefit so if I only end up
with a 20 hour work week, I get some supplimental pay
to help out. But they can't give me that until the long
term appeal is approved. That's where I was misinformed and
where the hang up is. She told me today to go ahead
and go back part time, the rehab pay will just have to
catch up.

Not really. Mom has already dug deep into her little bit
of savings to keep us afloat so far. All she has left
is what she has saved for a new car, and neither of
us want to mess with that. Her current car is about to
die any day now. My brother just took out a huge loan
against his retirement fund for the business plus he's
taking a severance package from work next month, so
he will have time to work on the business full time.

ROFL! You have no idea how funny that is!
I've been playing games and entering drawings at
Uproar every day for 3 months now trying to win some
money! Too fuuny, we're on the same track.

Ok, enough about my depressing problems. Tell me
about your package full of goodies! What have you
loved, liked or didn't care for??? I need to know these
things for the next time.

Oh, and I was telling Mom the other day I was turning
into an Aussie food junkie! I finished off my SAO
biscuits and am almost out of Bix Bars again, LOL.
I was thinking those Bix Bars would be great for me
in the morning on the way to work. I never have time
for breakfast and those are pretty satisfying, unlike
the breakfast bars here. The ones here are full of
sugar and I'm hungry an hour later.

OK then...

Let me tell you straight up that I am addicted to those chocolate covered Graham's Crackers!!! They kind of remind me of a biscuit we have over here called Tee Vee Snacks. Do you have those over there?

The peanut butter you sent is heaps sweeter than what we have here and talk about crunchy!!! Those are practicaly whole peanuts in there!

Tootsie rolls are interesting... am I crazy or do they have an orangy flavour to them?

Oh... and we also don't get honey roasted cashews (that I know of) over here but we do have the honey roasted peanuts.

LOL, I hadn't had the chocolate covered graham crakers
in ages. o went I got yours, I got one for me too.
They are wondeful aren't they! I will make a mental note,
Pharlap loves Keebler's chocolate graham's.
I don't think I've ever heard of Tee Vee snacks?

You know, when I went to get the peanut butter, I
spent a long time trying to decide between smooth or
crunchy, LOL. So I sent the one I like. Yes,
a lot of our peanut butter has sugar in it. It's for the
kids ya know, let's get them addicted to sugar at
an early age! It sure worked on me.
Have you ever seen the movie Meet Joe Black? He eats
peanut butter off a spoon in it and I was thinking about
you when I saw it the other night, LOL.

I don't think Tootsie Rolls have an orange flavor, but
I think there is something. I've always thought of
them as diluted chocolate. Which is fine for me. I
mean I like chocolate, but I'm not a huge fan of it.
I'd rather have Tootsie Rolls or something with
chocolate on it/in it. Make sense? I do have my cravings
once in awhile for a hunk of chocolate, but it's rare.
I still have some of the Cadbury bars you sent last
time.

I love honey roasted nuts, I just can't eat the peanuts
very often. I have a mild allergy to them. And I adore
roasted peanuts in the shell.

Allergic to peanuts... how awful!!!

I know that you don't have as big a sweet tooth as me which makes it hard to know what to send you... Is there anything (apart from those Bix Bars of course ) that you especially want me to send you the next time or anything that you've heard of that you are curious about?

Oh my goodness, I'll have to think about/research that!
I'm not at all familiar with your foods, other than
what you've sent me. Although a boomerang would be
cool. I'm sure the dog would love that, LOL! I know
Michelle posted a site once about different Aussie foods,
but silly me didn't bookmark it. If you can find one,
I'll look into it and see what looks good. I can say
hubby loves the Tim Tams though!

Arg, I hate that! I was just thinking I needed to go
check something on another site and now I can't
remember what it was! damn mush for brains
I tell ya!

Oh, and before I forget, can I ask you to do me a big
favor? Could you go check out my auctions and see
how they look? They're my first ones without AW and
I want to make sure they look clean, but nice and load fast.
Speaking of auctions, I see Bob has turned you into
a live auction junkie! I've ben going to fantasy art
auctions for several years now and I love them! Of
course I have so much art now and not enough wall space, LOL.
The first one I went to was such a rush when I got
one I really wanted, it got me hooked!
