Well said, Jack.

Meffle is trying pretty hard to pull himself out of the ditch. However, it's not working with me.

Whether or not Dealio is good, bad or indifferent is meaningless.

I haven't downloaded it and have no intention of doing so. It's not something I want.

The issue is Vendio advertised it in our images without our permission and to our detriment.

They had no right to do that.

As far as a refund, I think ALL charges from the VERY FIRST DAY Dealio was put on our images should be given back. That won't begin to come close to what we have lost because of Dealio but it would be a start.

An olive branch towards rebuilding trust?

Lucy

My greatest concern is how many of Vendio resources are being allocated to this Dealio venture ( and away from Sales Manager development)? With ebay making changes every time you turn around, is Vendio keeping pace? When I joined Vendio a few years back it was state-of-the-art but now I feel it borders on pasted together technology.

I guess the Inventory Edition must be great for people who sell the sort of things that apply to Inventory Edition but what about Merchandising Edition for the rest of us? Is it not going to IMPROVE? We desperately need a bulk relister where we can change item format, add a gallery and store term easily and not go through laborious edits in an application that requires side-to-side scrolling! It seems I am always developing "work-arounds" to compensate for areas where Vendio is lacking.

I have over 6000 items listed with templates and images hosted by Vendio. I shudder to think of leaving Vendio for the competition - I don't WANT to leave Vendio but I don't want to be left behind either. I NEED to TRUST that Vendio is working in development for ME and not using all of its resources in chasing new revenue streams. I hope this DEALO debacle is not indicative of Vendio's focus going forward.

I now remember why I tried to be brief earlier in this thread. Many sentences get turned into something they were never meant to be.

I haven't attempted to "skillfully move the discussion" or otherwise try to do anything but describe our position, answer the questions posed, and acknowledge our understanding of your concerns.

I understand the uniqueness aspect of each item for sale, sunnyjo, though we do generally see a high correlation of item views to bids and purchases, similar to when you pointed out that more people searching on eBay who may find your items is better. More discovery enhances your ability to drive sales, and we hope Dealio enhances discovery of your items. That's the only point I was trying to make, and I apologize if it read differently. I wish I had more time to sell, but Vendio weeks are very long, so I'm not an active eBay seller.

I can't speak to your individual situation and have no way of evaluating it directly, OhMsLucy, but there are no changes in the aggregated overall Vendio seller sales data that would indicate any negative sales impact resulting from changes to the enlarged image page.

I'm not saying we don't understand the possible harm that has been described here or potential that something happened in a unique case, but the data doesn't indicate any general loss or harm. Our services support tens of thousands of sellers, and we made this decision based upon the advice and counsel of the 30 or so sellers posting in this thread despite this contrary data. If we didn't have a strong desire to avoid any future concerns about pooping and eating in close proximity or the perception of harming your ability to sell, we likely wouldn't have made a complete change based upon the advice posted here. We listened, and we reacted with exactly the solution you desired as quickly as we could safely do so.

There isn't any indication of a general decrease in sales or any other harm that would warrant refunds for the services provided during this period. Our actions to date also clearly show we are able to make substantive changes independent of any such punitive action.

Hi Neglus,

The great majority of Vendio resources are focused on making our sales management services as strong and robust as they can be. We may not hit all the points each individual seller may desire in the order they would prefer, but we have many improvements and innovations in process.

In reference to resources and management services, I have been told for three years now that Vendio / Auction Watch will be adding a search function for closed items.

I have been told this numerous times over the last three years, and have yet to see it. I do not think it takes three years to create a simple search for closed items.

It is a much needed feature that would save many of your customers, a huge amount of time.

Can you give an actual definitive date that a closed items search box will appear?

Question about closing the "make-believe" store that none of us wanted in the first place. In My Account under Stores, I don't see anything that says you can permanently close the store...only something that says, Store closed for renovations, keep my store visible only to me. Do I check that option and will that "undo" the store? I'm assuming if it does, things should be put back to normal pre Dealio days.

I've been reading this whole discussion, start to finish. It reminds me of a recent visit to my grocery store (a small, intimate place). I asked the manager two questions:

1. Are the tangerines seedless?
2. What size are those shirts? (no sizes given on tags)

She said:

1. Our produce manager just cut a tangerine open for you, and it has seeds. I told her I thought other customers may want to know, and she looked at me blankly.

2. The shirts are all size Medium. Again, no mention of putting a sign on the display.

This seems like what Vendio is doing. Answering, and sometimes helping, individual sellers here, but NOT dealing with the big picture--all the people out there who aren't complaining because they don't know what's happened - yet.

I am trained in customer service. We were always told that a question from a customer or patient is bigger than that individual person's question about a product--and that we should deal with the answer globally.

What the heck are you doing, Vendio? How disappointing.

ciao346,

You can close your store (discontinue your plan) here:

https://secure.vendio.com/my/acct/pmt_plan.html?select_sf=1&close_store=1

I apologize I wasn't clearer about where to go in MyAccount.

aaronandelise, I know about the enhancement, but I don't have a definitive date. Let me find out and send you an e-mail.

roadsmith, I didn't even know tangerines could be seedless. We'd love to anticipate every question as would your grocer, but it's a continuous learning process for us all.

meffle,

Now I'm thoroughly confused. You sent me to My Account page and there was my service plan, however, I'm not sure if I was supposed to "enable" Sales Manager Inventory Edition, inorder to get rid of the "make believe" Store that was set up. (I did enable this feature)In my Service Plan it is now saying that I have a STORE CUSTOM PLAN. What the heck is going on??? This has all become a ridiculous maze! All I want to do is get rid of the store so that I don't get charged for it, and go back to the way it used to be before all the Dealio fiasco started. PLEASE take a look at my account and please give me specific directions to be rid of the store and revert back to normal, if there is such a thing anymore with Vendio!

Hello ciao346,

We have disabled your free Vendio Storefront per your request.

When your ready to list auctions again there will be no storefront promo on your enlarged image page.

Regards,
Christopher
