James Thurber, American Humorist, first published a short story in his high school newspaper "XRays" in 1913. Like most school newspapers it was run off on the school mimeograph machine. Seller ran item described as "Rare bound Thurber mimeograph, 1913, describing the piece. I paid $405 dollars for the item, and discovered upon receiving it that it was a 1960ish Xerox of the original. Seller "berthandme" on ebay refuses to refund money, claiming they did not know it was a Xerox. If they could not tell a modern Xerox from a 1913 mimeograph, then they certainly have no business selling books.
