I recently had an encounter with a rather unsavory buyer. He purchased the wrong item in an as is auction, then after he recieved the items he wanted a refund, I was away from my desk and out of town, when i came back I found this yo-yo had emailed everyone he could to complain. He emailed Square Trade, ebay, and PayPal. Out of all these companies PayPal was the only one that did not nail me to the cross or make me jump through hoops because the buyer failed to read. In my opinion PayPal was on MY side. I refunded the guy his money (prior to him returning the shipment) Upon examining the return I found that some of the parts had been damaged, but I just decided to write it off. In looking at the grand scheme of business on the net, PayPal is the best company to work with as a buyer. It seems Ebay is trying to do everything to make life difficult for the seller, while PayPal seems to be there for you. Everyone asks me why don't I accept Billpoint which is am Ebay company, their fees are outrageous, and I feel I give ebay enough money through fees.
While PayPal is not perfect, but at least they give me an itimized invoice at my fingertips that I can see EXACTLY where the fees went. And they also seem to be excellent in getting my EFT's into my account (the last 2 were slow, but not that bad)
In my opinion PayPal does not hassle the legitimate people, the ones that get hassled are the ones that are acting unethically.
