I was high bidder on a camera ($415)At the end of the auction, the reserve price was not met. I emailed the seller and asked if they would accept my final high bid. She accepted and I sent $425 through paypal. The auction ended Oct. 30, and the seller said she mailed it on Nov.5. She said she mailed it parsel post. It was a "first" time selling for her, the 15 or so feedback was all positive but for being a buyer only.
The seller has been very polite and responsive to my e-mail and claims she is from the New Jersery area, where the mail is a mess.
The bottom line is that I know I have no protection from e-bay and I have filed a problem delivery with paypal. Since she is an unvarified seller, I know I will not get any help from paypal.
Paypal does not want me to file a claim with my Master Card. Says I have to wait 30 days until they "look" into it. Has anyone been successful getting a charge back from their credit card for unreceived goods? Seller did not get "insurance" and I think has no proof she mailed the camera. I do not have the name or address of seller. Can my credit card force paypal to give that to them?
This is my first post here, and I apoligize for being too wordy.

sounds like your seller has no clue on selling electronic goods-parcel post and no insurance.
wonder if she knows how to pack a camera.
ebay does have insurance, there is a deductible and a max on coverage,i believe it is under 200.
since seller is unverified,i will call master card and ask them to do a chargeback.
even if paypal decides she is at fault,if she has no fund in her account, there is nothing they can do for you.
do yourself a favor, buy from reputable STORES,ebay & yahoo warehouse and amzn have established retail shops which sell in cyberspace, you can recognise there is a store name, toll free number and they always ship ups for fed exp,not usps parcel post ininsured.

usps mail is slow, can be very slow in certain states.
parcel post receives the lowest priority and every month when it is time to distribute govt checks, parcel post, books etc sit in warehouse.

Thank you, I called matercard today and they said to send seller an e-mail cancelling order for non delivery of goods, then to send them a copy of the e-mail as proof I cancelled the order along with my formal dispute request for a chargeback.

Resolution FINALLY!! PayPal notified me that they were able to recover $350 of the $425 and ON THE SAME DAY my MBNA master card called to tell me that they were crediting back the entire $425 to my account. I told them about the Paypal e-mail and asked MBNA what I had to do next. They said "nothing" that their bank would contact Paypal's bank and they would work it all out.

And to think that PayPal told me that by notifing my credit card that I was in "danger" of having my account closed and their "investigation" ended.

Hi mikols,

I am glad to hear that we were able to recover on your behalf. Our terms of use do require that you allow us to attempt recovery before filing a chargeback, so that is probably the reason why you were advised as such.

The amount should be credited to your credit card, so you will want to have the issuer stop the chargeback (if we have not already been in touch).

Damon, Why would I want to stop the chargeback?? Get Real!! I asked my Credit Card what I had to do next (they were aware paypal's recoved part of the money) and they said they would take care of it. The matter is settled!!

Hi mikols,

Because you recovered the money through the Buyer Complaint Process. I am sorry, but I didn't notice that it was a partial recovery---the other 75.00 is what I imagine will be worked on.

The fact remainds your credit card company was responsible for getting your money back. They would have taken it froze YOUR account and keep the money. Glad to hear you got it resolved no thanks to paypal

Hi club1man,

The information you are posting is incorrect. If the seller has not complied with the Seller Protection Program, and a Buyer Complaint was filed, the buyer would possibly be refunded if money was in the PayPal account. Please review the terms of use on the Buyer Complaint Process.
