How many "customer service" staff are there at PayPal??? This is the most pathetic excuse for a company I've ever seen ... and one that handles ten of thousands of dollars of OUR transactions!!!

My PayPal account was hacked ... yes HACKED ... on 1/26/02. $2,950 was transferred from my checking and debit card. (No Damon, for the umpteenth time I did not give out my password, store my password on my computer, go to any "spoof site", click on any links, etc., etc., etc.).

I notified PayPal by email immediately that same evening (1/26). I finally got a response to that on 2/5 saying "your claim is being processed." (Like I believe THAT!?!?)

On 2/4 I emailed Damon and repeated my request for someone to look into this. His response was he'd forward my email to the "Fraud Dept." I'm STILL waiting for a reply to that.

On 2/11 PayPal received a written letter from me thru snail mail, requesting them to contact me either by phone, snail mail, or email. Again ... no response.

On 2/26 at 1:16am Damon posted on another thread he'd have someone contact me. Well big surprise here ... almost 3 days later and guess what??? NO RESPONSE!!!

PayPal's TOS state they will notify you within 10 days of the results of their investigations. Damon keeps posting it will take 30 days. My 30 days were up and now he says it will take 45. Wanna go for 60? 90? 120? a year??? Who is getting the interest on MY money in the meantime???

And yes, I have called your infamous "customer service" department. 3 times I gave up after a half hour on hold. The fourth time I held for 1 HOUR AND 19 MINUTES ***AFTER*** they verified who I was before I gave up and hung up.

How the heck did PayPal get back on the good side of the BBB??? I understand they were not in good standing with the BBB because of poor customer service, but since they "improved" they are in good standing. If this is an improvement, I'd sure hate to see their old way of treating customers! I'm off to the BBB site now to file my complaint. Hope you all will do the same:

I filed a complaint about PayPal with the BBB over 2 months ago and have yet to receive a response. I wonder if they even care? I guess if the BBB ignores everyone then there's "not a problem anymore" LOL!!

This is ridiculous. I'm STILL waiting for "someone" from PayPal to contact me. I've been waiting since January 26th!!! I have asked numerous times to talk to someone and all I get are promises of "I'll forward your request to the proper department" and repeated denials that PayPal hasn't been hacked.

Your "10-day investigation" (as stated in your TOS) is now on Day #35. This is pure BS!!!

Just goes to show future PayPal users what they can expect as far as customer service is concerned. Not the kind of company I would trust my finances with.

I noticed Damon has been AWOL lately. (Wanna see my surprised look now???).

PayPal's TOS say they will notify you within 10 days after you contact them with the results of their investigation. I contacted them on January 26th! Then suddenly Damon appears, saying it will be 30 days. Well, 30 days has come and gone and now he says 45 days!!! I've now been waiting (and no, NOT "patiently" 36 days with absolutely NO contact from PayPal, altho I have repeatedly emailed, snail mailed, and emailed, begging for someone to contact me. All I get is the runaround ("Oh, I'd be happy to forward your request to the proper department."

So Damon (and I know you're lurking here) ... when can I expect to get my money back that was taken by a hacker??? And save your breath about going to the spoof sites, giving out my password, storing my password, blah blah blah ... I've heard that a million times.

I received an email from a person who told me my Paypal account info was not secure and he had all my info and was going to use it, unless I sent him an amount through Paypal, I sent this email to [email protected] and once again informed them that until my money was paid to me and they unlocked my account, and and all emails mentioning paypal (obscene word in my dictionary) they will be charged the mandatory $25,000.00 damages for each email sent to this ISP under the anti-uce law.
