I have read all the posts about Paypal, and how so many people are having problems. I really don't understand that!!! I have been dealing with Paypal and never had even a glitch! I simply have the money transfered to my account. It arrives in 3-5 days just as stated. I have found that as a seller, Paypal has truly helped the buyer to pay quickly, thus I can ship their item the same day! As to why people are having problems... maybe they should look again at the information they gave Paypal and make sure it was correct in the first place! I am sure Paypal is not just picking on certain people, and giving fantastic service to others! The problem must be on the receiving end. Sure, they had growing pains. All growing companies do. But to slander a company for normal growing pains is unreasonable. They are after all providing a free service! If someone doesn't like Paypal, well then go and pay another company to do the same thing that you currently get for free. I really don't think that the other companies have always had smooth sailing days every day. Get real! This is the age where everything is run by computers. Computers do have problems too.

I used Paypal for months without incident. Then my wife's account (different email, different credit card, different bank) got messed up. Folks sent money, she and sender got confirmation but money never showed up. I put money in her account so she could buy something but Paypal wouldnt let her send it. When I called paypal to straighten it out, they decided that the proper action was to shut down my account because it was a "duplicate." They did this without any warning and with payments in it. They did not email the senders to let them know. I had to wait until I got the angry emails and email them myself to tell them to cancel the payments and pay me via Payme. It is over two weeks, 4 phone calls and a dozen emails and nothing has been fixed. My account is still gone, my wife's is still screwed up. This is not "growing pains." This is not "just" a computer glitch. This is a deliberate and heavy-handed act by Paypal and a complete lack of customer service. They have ruined several of my auctions and hurt my reputation. The fact that they did this for free does not make it any better.

I am glad some of you are not having any problems with Paypal, and I must add that I was one of those Paypal users too (no problems). But it really irks me that some people who haven't had a problem with Paypal can put these posts up (here and on other AW boards), staunchly defending Paypal and insisting that the people who are having Paypal problems must have done something wrong, given the wrong information, etc. (that it must be the person's fault). Paypal is not a perfect system. Best pray you're not the next person to run into a glitch with the Paypal system or you'll be eating your words.

I've only used Paypal 2 times and got burnt both times. For some reason they don't feel inclined to pay me even though they're not shy about relieving my customers on their money. Their customer service will not respond to any communication, so don't even bother trying to contact them. You wont get your money if they choose to keep it. I've got "money" sitting out there right now in my account even though they locked my account to keep me out of it.
