I am having problems with Image Hosting. I use a Kodak Z712IS digital camera for my pictures. I will be able to load a dozen or so auctions with no problems, then without any changes to the camera settings, all my images will fail because file is to large. I crop my pictures in Picasa and then send them to My Pictures at the lowest setting. This has worked for the last couple of weeks, and now today all pictures are failing to upload again. I had a third party go through it all and try different methods and all failed. The really odd part is that in one instance I tried loading 4 "test" pictures of the same item with the same settings and one actually loaded. If anyone has any ideas on this one it would be greatly appreciated as I am losing valuable sales time.

Hello steveandme,

I wanted to attempted to duplicate the problem on our end, so I took 13 images from my computer, and loaded them to your account (and promptly deleted them permanently) without issue.

It's important to remember that cropping an image doesn't always change the file size (in KB's) to one that is appropriate for upload. The best option is to auctually resize the image using a program such as Picasa, as you mentioned, or Photoshop. You could also change the setting on your camera to take pictures that are upload appropriate. Most cameras have a "internet file" or "auction" setting, usually one of the last two option in the image size catagory.

Note also that since your running Windows XP, you can use Windows to upload your images - and resize them during the upload process, directly to your Vendio account.

I would do your cropping in Picasa, but just export them at their full size instead of using Picasa to resize them.

The above URL is where you can download the plugin needed so you can use your Windows tool with Vendio.
When using it and are given the resize option, pick the one marked 'Large' - it will get images over 500k down in size enough to upload while retaining the maximum image size and clarity.

Chris

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the time you took to help me out. Following your advice I have listed the last two evenings with no image hosting problems. It is nice to deal with an internet business that will take the time to deal with customers questions and issues.
