Hello,

Do you have an example of an listing which you are experiencing PayPal not listed as a payment option? I took at look at both active and pending listings and saw PayPal listed as a payment option.

Mine are exactly the same; PayPal is never shown under "Payment" at the top of the auction. Also, in the eBay invoice option, my PayPal id is never correct -- though it is properly selected in AuctionWatch. Instead, it shows up as my eBay ID.

Many other sellers with other 3rd party services have "PayPal" show up in "Payment" are of the auction. Example: "Payment PayPal, money order/cashiers check, personal check, or see item description for payment methods accepted."

Mine: "Payment Money order/cashiers check, Visa/MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or see item description for payment methods accepted." No PayPal, ever. That's why I have to pretend I have a merchant account, so AW will show that I accept credit cards.

I hope this gets solved; it's not good for business to not have PayPal under payment.

PayPal is not shown as an option in checkout either. In fact, PayPal is distinctly "unchecked" which is not only confusing to bidders, it's confusing to me when I create an eBay invoice.

Even if I manually check the PayPal box, as I pointed out above, eBay only gives the option of having my PayPal ID be my eBay e-mail address, not my mailstep.com address.

I don't understand what's going on.

Hello,

If you want PayPal to show up in the list of payment options at the top of your auction, go to the "Payment Types Accepted" section of My Account -> Seller Preferences. Select "Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo" in your listings. If you use Sales Manager Pro, these online preferences will apply to listings created offline as well.

Note that if you select "Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo", eBay will insert a "Pay Now" button at the top of your closed listing. This button will take the winning bidder through eBay's checkout process (this option is unfortunately the only way that you can include PayPal in the list of payment options in red at the top of your listing.)

If you do not want to use eBay's checkout, and you would like to guide your customers to use your preferred checkout method, you can enable the AuctionWatch Checkout button which will appear in the listing once it has closed. For more information on this, please refer to this link:

http://www.auctionwatch.com/tutorials/checkout/index.html

If you are having buyers go through eBay Checkout, the only way to get them to go through mailstep is to change your eBay ID to your mailstep ID. This way when your buyer clicks to pay via the PayPal logo, it will be submitted to the mailstep address and the information will be captured by our system. Unfortunately that is the only way at this time to correct that problem, since eBay now gives the option of using a PayNow button in a listing to pay for an auction

Sonya

Okay, I was able to change the setting and test an auction. PayPal showed up in "Payment."

However, how can we change our eBay ID to our mailstep address? eBay does not allow us to use e-mail addresses for new IDs.

Do you mean use our mailstep.com e-mail address as our eBay e-mail address? Wouldn't this mess up our bidder e-mails: Ask a Question, etc.? I'm still confused.

Hello,

eBay gives you the option to display a user name or the email address your account is under. Now that they have been completing the integration of PayPal, when you click the PayNow button, it goes through the email address that your eBay account is under. So if you change your eBay email address to mailstep, when people click on PayNow, they'll be submitting through mailstep thus causing payments to be recorded properly in post sale.

Mailstep redirects email to the primary email address you have on file with AuctionWatch. Yours is the same one as your eBay email address is right now. So changing that to mailstep wouldn't really affect you, it would just appear differently in your listings. You still will receive your email to the same place.

I know this can get a bit tricky, let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Sonya

I really have to be careful. I was grandfathered into the old rule of being allowed to have my e-mail address as my ID.

Now if I change my primary e-mail address to my mailstep address, will my ID be at risk of being changed to the mailstep address as well? I would need to know before taking this potentially drastic step. Thanks !

hello,

If you changed your primary email address it would change your ebay ID to whatever you change your primary email address to. So if you aren't sure what you want to do you might want to think about it, but that right now is the only solution to getting your payments to go right to mailstep if people click that pay now button.

You could try putting bold text in your auction telling bidders not to do anything regarding payment until they've heard from you.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I did not change it. A payment is a payment, even if I have to copy from the PayPal screen to the AW checkout screen . Better that than a bidder thinking I don't accept PayPal.
