Is there any way to use the original auction listing form that let you choose the category on the same page as the listing info. This new style really slows things down - a definite step backwards.

This is insane!!!! Anyone needs to see the pictures of what they want to sell before they pick a Cat. This has put a complete STOP! to any listings. Makes NO sense at all!

Hello --

We separated the category selector from the rest of the listing information to help in two ways:

1) It allows us to present the correct Item Specifics fields to you directly within the listing form. Since eBay is planning to have widespread use of Item Specifics across their categories this year, having these fields within the listing form (instead of in a pop-up or on an additional page) will save our sellers time and effort creating eBay listings.

2) It helps distribute the large amount of page data -- now the listing page itself can load much faster without the whole category tree. This is especially noticeable when you go to edit pending listings or re-lists.

For most users, the new listing process actually has the exact same number of clicks as the previous page flow.

Please note, if you frequently create eBay listings, you can set a bookmark on the "Choose Category" page for eBay by bookmarking this page: http://wsacp.auctionwatch.com/my/acp/edit_auction.html?site_id=1

Thanks for your feedback and input --

I agree with you and have just said as much. Yesterday I spent half an hour looking for the old system, which is/was very fast. this new thing really slows things down.

Every page I try to create a listing or upload images or acutally list an auction, the entire site has been so sluggish in the past week that I'm spending my entire time pressing the refresh button. I managed after 45 minutes to list two simple auctions this morning. One of those auctions, which are in my pending file, was able to accept the launch time which was entered -- the other auction refuses to let me schedule the time in the proper field. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of trouble? Everywhere else I travel on the web, things are fine, but AuctionWatch is impossible to navigate. What's going on?

Hello Christiano,

Using the refresh button in the case of slow page loads when submitting data is not always the best solution - you just successfully posted 10 posts! Normally, the data goes through, just slowly. When submitting data, it is best to check to make sure that it did not go through before refreshing, so that you don't end up with duplicate posts (or auctions!)

I am not sure why your performance with our site is sluggish - since we see no general performance issues from here, I would imagine that there is something going on with your network connection. You might want to try clearing your browser cache, etc., and if that doesn't help, contact your ISP to see if they can detect any packets being lost between you and us.

Thanks,

Diana
