Hello~ I would like to add information to my custom template that I use every auction and can't figure out how to do it. They are "Keywords" like size, color, fabric, etc. with space and paragraphs. I have seen them on other auctions hosted my Vendio so I know it is possible to lock those keywords into your saved template. Any one know specifically how to do it? Thank you.

Hello,

To edit your default text, go to My Account -> Custom Listing Text. Please be sure to click on the "Save Preferences" button on the bottom of the page after you have made the necessary changes.

This is text that will appear in each and every listing you create.

Regards,
Christopher

Thank you for your response, Christopher. I tried what you recommended however, it doesn't do what I hope to accomplish. With that method, I can not add words in the text boxes when I begin a new auction. I want to add words like "Size" that will come up everytime I begin an auction. All I have to do, each time, is add the size. Same for the word Measurement....I want to type in numbers.
With the format that I have now, the most I can do with a description is type everything in one continous paragraph and all information has to be typed with each and every auction.

Hello,

I understand what you mean. That is correct, you will not be able to use the default listing text for this, as the text will actually change each time you list.

There is however a workaround for this. Just create a new listing for eBay, and when you get to the description field, enter everything except the specifics. You will then want to save this as an inventory profile. In order to save your item as an inventory profile, just check the "Save this item in my inventory" option as you are creating your listing.

Once the listing is created and saved, click on Inventory in Sales Manager (the link is under Display Options in the lefthand navigation bar.) Locate your item, and click on the item title. Then, select "Profile Item" at the top of the page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Save" button. You will now see that your profile item will be highlighted in yellow on your inventory page.

After this is completed, you will see that the inventory profile has been added to the drop-down list on the Choose Category page under Apply Profile.

When you list new items in the future, you will be able to apply all of this information to your new item, without needing to enter it each time, and where you can just fill in the blanks.

---------

On a side note, you mentioned everything showing up in one big long paragraph. Here are some tips you can use when creating your description/profile:

When entering your text into the description box for your new item listing, you will need to use some basic HTML tags to allow the text to be formatted with paragraph breaks and line breaks. The tags you need are listed below:

<P> - Insert this before any text where you would like to start a new paragraph.

<BR> - Insert this where you would like a simple line break (as if you hit the enter key.)

We hope that this will assist you in formatting your text. You may also use various other HTML tags to change your font size/color, etc. There are many online HTML tutorials, as well as a guide provided by eBay, available at this URL:

If you have any problems with this, or if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us again.

Regards,
Christopher

Thank you! Your detailed response made it possible for me to create what I had been trying to do. With a little cutting and pasting plus the html tutorial that you linked, I was successful. Yahoo! Thank you very much!
