I have Sales Manager (Post Sales), and also use Customer Manager.

There are times when I am in Post Sale, that I just want to email the person, like I would if I was in Customer Manager and went to COMPOSE MEESAGE.

Is there a way in Post Sale to Click somewhere and have their email address loaded in Customer Manager to Compose and Send a message.

Right now, if I click on their email address, it opens up an email program registered to Windows, but I want to keep all correspondence through Customer Manager.

Currently I have to copy their email into the clipboard. Tab over to the Customer Manager. Click on Compose Message. Paste email address into message.

Am I missing some easier way?

Hello,

When you create your listings there is an option that allows your winners to be imported into Customer Manager. If you do that then when you need to email a customer you can just go to Customer Manager and do it, rather than copy and paste from your auction to your clipboard to your new message in CM.

I think you may have missed the point.

You are suggesting if I am in Post Sale looking at an order and feel the need to email the customer about their order, separate from the 9 steps that are one click, that I should go to Customer Manager from there and try to locate the customers email address among the thousands of email addresses over there in the directory, so I can click on it in the directory and compose a message from there?

That would take a long time, and much more time than copying the already known email address into the clipboard from post Sale, and going to Customer Manager and pasting in Compose Message.

What is worse about your suggestion, is I do not even think I can email from the manage customer directory. (Are the names-emails stored any where else?)

From the manage customer directory I have never been able to click on anything to load the email address in a compose message
screen. From the directory, I think I have to cut and paste the email address to be able to send a message.

I bet it would take me 2 or 3 minutes to locate the name in manage customers, plus I still have to cut and paste.

I was hoping there would be a simple, fast, one click method to be able to send a message to a customer in Post Sale without using the steps 1 - 9, and that would keep a history of the email in my Customer Manager.

I hope I have been missing something.

I believe the trouble here is that not everybody that uses Sales Manager uses Customer manager, so Vendio has taken the easy route of just linking the e-mail addresses on post-sale to a "mailto:" link.

While that works for people who aren't using customer manager, it is quite a pain for somebody who is trying to do hundreds of items a week, since an extra couple hundred minutes of time could be better spent making money than switching back and forth between customer manager and sales manager.

My suggestion:

For people who have both customer manager and sales manager, change the e-mail link in post-sale to lead directly to an e-mail composer in customer manager.

For people who only have sales manager, the status quo seems to be the proper way to go.

Correct me if I am wrong interpreting the situation.

If there were two links, one for regular email like it is now, and the other that leads to Customer Manager. If the person subscribes, it would work, if they do not, it could link to a sigh up option.

That would be the best of both worlds.
