I changed my prefs so that the addresses/info are automatically imported for Paypal payments made outside of the Vendio check-out. However, when the Paypal payment info is imported it doesn't recognize the shipping charge- it is shown as 'paid via Paypal' (with the Paypal transaction #) with their name/address, but there is no shipping charge added. It shows their order with a credit for the amount of shipping that they paid. My shipping choices in ebay check-out are the same as in Vendio check-out.

Do I have this 'Paypal info import' function understood correctly? Do I need to change something about my shipping to make it work? (I offer 3 shipping choices:

1)US shipping $3.85
2)Canada shipping $3.85
3)All other International shipping $6.00

...this is a flat rate for any number of items, no calculator,- can't get any simpler!)

Also, I had one international buyer's item shown in Vendio as paid via Paypal (with the PP transaction# so I assume it was imported) yet there was no name and address.

Was I expecting too much from the Paypal import, or did I misunderstand it? It is a bit of a pain now as I have to either cancel the payment in Vendio and re-enter the info and select a shipping option/rate...or, add shipping in the 'charges/credit' box to bring their balance from a credit to $0. This is not a problem when they fill out the Vendio check-out themselves, only when Vendio imports the info.

I would like a answer to this one also. I get about 5 to 8 customers a week that checkout through ebay motors, pay with paypal and all info is imported "except" their shipping preference. I have to uncheck the "checkout completed", then edit in their shipping preference going by the price and save it. PITA!

Hello,

We have logged a request for marking the shipping costs and will add your names to the list of users requesting this enhancement.

Unfortunately the issue with having to manually mark the shipping costs is one of the current limitations.

'logged a request...'??

So someone actually decided it was a good idea to create a change to 'import Paypal payments made outside of Vendio', yet totally overlooked (or disregarded) shipping? That would be like omitting the buyers last name- yea, it will probably get there but....

This just doesnt seem like something that we should have to 'request'- it should have been an integrated part of that function.

Christopher, you guys should bean these programmers for having to relay back to them what they should have known!

Hello sfnyartist,

I should have clarified, we have this already logged as a project and this is why we simply added your names to the list of those requesting this enhancement.

There was (obviously, I hope) no decision made to exclude the shipping options from the PayPal IPN setup when this was designed, it simply wasn't supported. Im not sure what the exact limitation of the the IPN data is that we currently receive, but perhaps there is a way that we can create our own rule to help manage this.

Just to note:

1) When the Paypal payment is imported, though it does not 'charge' for the shipping and ends up showing as a credit for the shipping amount to the buyer >>> when I uncheck 'pmt received' and 'WBN Received' (so that I can edit the WBN)...the correct shipping IS already selected in the WBN (so...maybe the amount that they pay for shipping in Paypal triggers the shipping choice?) but unfortunately it does not carry over as a charge.

Hope I said that right! Just passing that along...

Also...

2) Even though the buyers name/address imports into Vendio, it DOES NOT add tax. Even when I unselect 'pmt received' & 'WBN Received' and click on 'edit WBN'....all the info is there (name/address/shipping type/pmt method) and I click 'save' and the WBN now appears 'received' it will not calculate my state tax- so I can't even 'force' it in once it is 'imported'.

Just wanted to add to the flaws.
