Found this on an ebayer's "About Me" page:

And Oh Yeah ...Sorry if it takes kinda long for me to get a payment out to you if I won your auction, I only work part time and I don't make that much money, but it will get out to you in a few days!

Apparently "kinda long" can be up to 2 months, according to her FB...

Be kinda fun to respond to that with..."Yeah, well ya know, I like, ya know, work full-time so I ya know, can send your item to you, ya know, when I can find the time, because, I, ya know, work full time. Sorry it may take, ya know, kinda long, ya know, for it to get to you..........

Gee, I wonder which one of winning bidders you are talking about. "Well I sent two checks!" - but doesn't wonder where her merchandis is! "I've been sick." - that was a month and a half ago. "But don't neg me you rotten seller." And it all goes on and on and on......

The right response would be, 'sorry if I feel like filing an NPB and giving you a negative feedback because I, ya know, don't run a welfare clinic for deadbeats.'

"And oh yeah, well sorry it kinda took so long for me to get your package to you, I work full time and ya know, don't get much time to deliver what I promise..and oh yeah, your measly bid didn't deserve that much attention from me."

Lordy! What are people thinking when they write these things? Don't bid if you can't afford it.

Reminds me of my favorite email I received three weeks after the EOA. Buyer: "I hope we can work out some kind of payment soon. This is for my wifes birthhday." My thought: Ok, you send the check, money order or paypal, and I'll send your item. How's that?
"If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it."

Welfare clinic for deadbeats. LOLOL!

I got an email this week, "My credit cards are maxed out and I'm broke. I'll send you a check next payday." (Want some friendly advice? Stop buying junk on eBay!!)

Hi, HCQ!

Of course, based on other threads, we have to remember that we sellers are ultimately responsible for these poor peoples' situations, because WE offer our merchandise for sale on Ebay. Therefore, it's our obligation to make allowances for whatever terms of sale they choose to impose on us....

helnjoe,

"I sent two checks" makes you wonder why they're not worried about where the first check is. No reason to send two checks if you really sent the first, just trace it.

Re: "I sent two checks".. oh boy. I dealt with someone like this once... not on eBay. She was supposed to be refunding a deposit I'd made on something, $50. She claimed to have sent a check and when it never arrived I asked her what was up, and she got very hostile, saying she'd already SENT a check and how was she to know I hadn't already cashed it!? (Uh, duh!! Try calling your bank!) and if not, she didn't want to send another while still having that other one "out there" (um, try putting a stop-payment on it maybe?).. and then told me she was very busy and really didn't have time to be conceding to all these unreasonable "demands" by me for a second check! <sigh>

I did finally get my money, but it took a while.

I recently sold an item and had the funds earmarked to pay a bill. Of course, as luck would have it, it appears to be a deadbeat who won. The bidder ignored my EOA so I filed NPB.

I received an e-mail two days ago saying: "I have a 16 month old, that's why I didn't pay."

I was tempted to respond: Well, you had a 15 month old and were able to bid...

We'll see.

Not Kerryann on eBay

What really burns me about my 2 check payer is that right along she has been bidding and paying other sellers. She gets great feedback and I'm sitting here with my thumb in my mouth wondering what I did wrong. AND the worst part is that I'm afraid to neg her because I am just building my reputation and don't want negative feedback from her! I feel like a dirty rotten coward. One day I'm going to neg her, the next day I'm not - and it goes on. I feel so USED. LOL

No that's not the worst part. This is: a week and half ago she snotily said she was sending out payment via Prioriy Mail and I TOLD her that I would sent extra mdse to cover her expense and she still hasn't paid.
I'm getting stiffed and I want to give her more stuff! My husband says that I will never make a business person. Right, duh.
(This makes me feel better than going to confession and I don't have to get drunk to do it.)
