Ok, here goes-I won an auction on July 11. The seller is from England. He received my check, and cashed it, so now I am waiting for my item to arrive. Now, over 6 weeks later, I have still not received it! I wrote him an email a couple of weeks ago, inquiring of the whereabouts of my item and he replied that he mailed it on July 18, priority air mail, and that I should've gotten it within a week! But, on the other hand, he says, sometimes it has taken 4-5 weeks for some of his oversea shipments to arrive! So, I waited a couple more weeks; still no items. What do you think I should do now? Email him again? Ask for a refund?

I'd email him again although he might be of any assistance. Check with your post office. They have been known to sit on packages without giving people notice.

If the item was insured the seller can trace it for you. If it wasnt insured then the post office won't do anything about it. There is a trace paper for uninsured international packages that doesnt arrive available at the post office, but I was told by my own postmaster once that basically they throw them away.

Thank you mballai and chum for offering me some excellent advice. I did email the seller again this evening and he responded with my choice of offerings: either a full refund (shipping included) or a like item to the one that I won! What a nice guy--I guess I get all the luck because this makes the second seller this month that has been so willing to make things right.
