I am receiving a lot of "Snow White and Seven Dwarf" attachments sent by someone called hahaha . They appear to come like the Happy99 virus, right after an email from someone, usually my ebay bidders.
I am assuming this is a virus, yet I haven't been able to find it on Mcaffee or datalinks or any other of my virus links.
Does anyone have any info?
Nope, didn't open it.

My Husband works for a Petro-Chem plant that is highly computerised. They check out all the virus alerts, to see which are real. This one is real !! Don't open the snow white.

I have recieved at LEAST ten of these in the last few weeks...it is REAL...do not open it.....its the same sender etc so I assume they harvested ebay addresses. Its some kind of hibergen virus..or something like that. I know Norton picks it right up and quarantines it......always something isn't it??

Empires,
I don't understand. I read the link you provided and it doesn't appear they are saying it is a hoax.
Sounds pretty real to me.

Thank you so much for posting this!! I have been receiving this email several times a day for weeks now. I always just delete it - I've never opened it. Didn't know what it was!

This worm is definitely NOT a hoax!!
The worm is called a Hybris and targets the winsock32.dll library. It often comes with an executable attachment named "joke.exe" (Snow White) but has many other attachment names, many of which are sexually explicit and your computer should be safe as long as you don't double click on the attachment. Just delete the entire email.
QUOTE
"This is an Internet worm spreading as file attachments to email messages. The worm works under Win32 systems only. The worm contains components (plugins) in its code that are executed depending on the worm's needs, and these components can be upgraded from an Internet Web site."
END QUOTE

It's a good idea to make a backup copy of your winsock32.dll and keep it on a floppy or anywhere other than your Win System folder.
