I've been wanting to change my id on eBay for some time now... The name I want is supposedly taken... yet when I try to find out the email address of the id I want it says they are not a registered user.
Somehow one day while researching this ID I got a screen that did give me the email address and said that it had not been confirmed yet.
How long does eBay keep non confirmed ID's in their database? I know this id has not been confirmed for at least 3 weeks... If someone is not going to confirm in 3 weeks I doubt they would, and I would really like to have that ID....

rarriffle,
Thanks for pushing it up... but I guess no one knows the answer...
I'm going to wait until I know it's been 30 days, which is what they give to release previously used id's... if it's not available after that, I guess I'll just have to think up a new id...
AW doesn't put the seller's eBay ID on the packing slip, so I put my id in the first name, and my full name in the last name field... only my eBay ID is one letter too long for AW's first name field. So I was trying to fix that...

Your problem is a throwback to when ebay allowed people to reserve an id and then confirm it.
Many ids were never confirmed for whatever reason. If you are getting the unconfirmed message then the id is probably around a couple of years old.
Write ebay and tell them the situation and let them know you want the id. Ebay will release it and tell you to watch it for 30 days. If the user doesn't confirm it within that time you can get it.
