ok, so now that all email is going thru ebay....how the heck do i deal with the following: i list mousetraps....joe customer emails me about mousetraps...sez that she likes the ones that i am listing and would love to bid, but only wants to bid if she can buy 15 more from me and also sez...how much would 15 of them be??...
do i say:
1)oh, let me wait and list 15 of them and see what the highest bid is/are
2)it is not possible to purchase 15 of them as i only have one listed and ebay is monitoring our email
3)email ebay to ask what to do??
WHAT THE HECK DO I DO??
I DO HAVE 15 OF THEM.
I NORMALLY WOULD STATE WHAT THE PRICE WOULD BE AND CONCLUDE A SALE.
NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.....SUGGESTIONS??

Whats funny is I have recieved an email that almost seemed to be a canned response asking if I would sell an item off auction. I have also found that other sellers have had this type email as well and read on a few posts of things like this happening. Sounds to me like sellers are being policed! At any rate, I would get her phone number and call her.
I had someone ask me for an item and I told them to bid and I would close the auction early and send the item but I would not risk getting booted from ebay for this. Of course, I think according to eBay its ok to sell something off auction if your pointing to a website that sells the item higher than your opening bid price... I think the rule is you just can't offer anything off auction.

I've been contacted several times this week by folks wanting to purchase items from me outside of eBay.
For the first time EVER... I have sold numberous items to folks who have contacted me after seeing my listings on eBay and desire to make purchases... I even Ended Auctions Early this morning (they didn't have any bids) in order to be able to accomodate a single customer.
I've made a lot of money this past week... and much of it OUTSIDE of eBay.
It's not even about what's best for eBay... I'm a SELLER.... It's about MY BOTTOM LINE... my profits are important to me, whether eBay gets a cut of it or not!!
I'm lookin' out for ME, because eBay is lookin' out for EbAY!!

Just negotiate with her and once you agree to the deal start an auction for a lot of 15 mousetraps. Set the BIN price for the price you agreed on, send her the auction number and then she could buy the lot at the BIN price. Ebay gets its fees and you make a sale.

Don't worry about ebay. Sell her the 15 items. Are you working for ebay or yourself. If you have the opportunity to sell something, go for it. I don't think ebay is monitoring our email. They said they would not do that, plus there is too much email to monitor.

Tell her that you will place 15 mousetraps up for sale with a "invitation only" auction for a price of $xx.xx
And make sure she pays BEFORE you place the auction.
Takes care of the entire problem: you get the sale, she gets the mousetraps, and eBay can't say you are making off-line deals.
