I had a pair of shoes up for auction. The starting bid was $5.00. The seller emailed me with 2 questions, which I responded to. She bid on the auction and of course won it. And then asked me if I took an online payment service, which in my TOS it clearly states check or money order only.

I emailed her with shipping and payment instructions, now, she is chewing me out over ME never answering her questions and why oh why don't I take online payments.
I told her that it was MY option to take online payments, not the bidders and that a check or money order would be fine. And by the way I had answered her questions.

She emailed me back and said I didn't answer the questions, but she would send a check off.

Now, I get an email from her, that since I didn't answer her questions, she is not sending a check, stating I should have answered her question if I want to get paid.

She has no negatives, but boy oh boy is she a pain in my neck. What would be the course you would take on this auction?

Thanks in advance

Don't get into an email war any further.

If your TOS or EOA state a payment deadline, then on that deadline day, send her another email (remaining professional & aloof) that payment was due & not received.

Ignore any diatribes on her part. If she doesn't pay, start the NPB process & stick with it.

There's absolutely NOTHING you can do when you run up against people like this except stick to your own course of action.

Buyers remorse manifested through accusations...

Disconnect this one...

No more contact; you did your part...

Do the appropriate filings and feedback...

Everyone has given you good advice, Heed it. File for your fees, then neg them as dead beats and move on. Waste no more time on them.

"She has no negatives" I'd be happy to give her her first, for refusal to pay by the means I require. :0

I would follow through with the normal NPB procedure ... if the auction says CHECK or MO, she can't expect you to accept electronic payments. File the FVF if it goes that far, and give "buyer failed to follow terms of TOS" as the reason. She'll pitch a fit, and possibly retaliate with a negative, but don't worry.

I agree with the gang. Whether you answered her questions or not is irrelevant. She bid & won. She has a responsibility to follow through on your terms or else risk the NPB/FVF & Neg thingies.

(Sorry. The room is full of kids & I can neither think nor type.)
