Hello,

I wonder whatyour experience considering the Gallery option is. Do you think you have more visitors or bidders if you take that option for $ 0.25, too?

Thanks for your opinions.

If you Pay to schedule and launch auctions from auction watch why pay the .25 ebay fee when AW offer you a free galery or store front feature.

most online auction manageing site offer the same services.

bandika: When the gallery feature first rolled out, I think it was worth the extra quarter.

I used to place most of my items in the gallery.

BUT... I've noticed that in recent months, the gallery seems to be of less value and I'll tell ya why.

It seems to me that folks shopping via Gallery images are more "window shopper" personalities. Meaning... they LOOK (which might increase the page view hit count on your auctions some) but they aren't necessarily shopping to BUY. (those folks aren't usually placing bids).

I've reduced the number of items that I include in the gallery by quite a bit over the last couple of months and have NOT noticed a reduction in the number of actual BIDS.

Additionally... I've decided that page view hit counts are no longer a good indication of whether or not I've placed my items in the proper category (because I rarely go moving them around in the middle of the auction any more anyway and every week the traffic is different in the various categories - as it's just too time consuming to babysit all of the listings) - if the item doesn't sell.. and if I decide to relist on eBay... I re-examine the category choices at that time.

Also... IF I've opted to use the gallery feature for the first run (which I do less and less these days) I will usually remove the feature upon relisting.

Not gonna give eBay any more quarters than I have to in order to SELL in that venue.

I believe that MOST of the people looking for something specifically to buy will do a key word search, pretty much negating the need to pay for the gallery feature. Just get an Auctive showcase. It's free and performs much better than the AW one.

Howdy! NO, eBay's Gallery isn't worth the extra money when you can get a FREE Gallery at either Auctiva or Honesty (I use www.honesty.com - it's GREAT!!). And you can choose colors, headings, add counters, put a little about your company or terms on your FREE Gallery!

As a seller I used the Gallery for a couple of months.

As a buyer I've never used the Gallery, when my wife shops on eBay she has never used the Gallery.

The fact neither my wife or I ever used the Gallery was a factor in me discountinuing its use. I was unable to see any increase in bids by using it, or see any decrease in bids by not using it.

As with others, we rarely use it.

Our informal surveys show buyers use general search. Even more so now that the categories are more complex.

Plus, we have a budget cap for our eBay monthly invoice. By cutting down on some of the frills, we've actually increased sales and decreased expenses...

good thread - thanks...

As a buyer I never use Gallery either.

I think getting the item in the right category and using the right keywords in the title (and perhaps the description too) are "worth" much more. And, that doesn't cost you another .25 cents.
