I have been listing some books on Half.com but I have noticed people have listed some books for a penny!!?? I know you can't list for anything less .75 cents NOW but why would anyone have listed book for a penny anyways? What is the advantage or rational?

Just a guess - they get the book for free or as part of a big lot (you know, like at the book sales where you get everything you can fit in a bag for $1) - the assign the $1 to the most valuable book and the rest are freebies.. or they were desperate to get rid of it..

The minimum has been 75 cents for a while but items before the 75 cents minimum were grandfathered in. Perhaps they were trying to build up their feedback rating or something.
I wish Half would make it mandatory for sellers to add Delivery Confirmation to all orders ( except First Class Mail .. not available ) and add that fee to the reimbersement of s/h payment.

I noticed there were several at Amazon marketplace at 1¢. Amazon needs to implement a minimum amount as well, in my opinion.
Now all the 1 cent sellers are moving to Amazon. I don't get how they can be making money there, as they must be paying $40 a month or losing money on each sale.

You don't really make money at .75 either unless your time is worth nothing. Many sellers get books cheaply, but the idea is to turn a profit. I can sell some books for a lower amount only if the average sale amount is high enough to make it worthwhile.
Figure it this way. To buy and sell a book, the least amount of time it will take you is about 15 minutes. At the same salary you get for flipping burgers, this is about a $1.00.
Even if the book costs nothing, you still might do better working for the Golden Arches than selling on Half.

I have 36 books listed at half, have only sold I think 2 there.. will be cross-listing them at Yahoo Warehouse (once registration is fixed) and Amazon Marketplace over the weekend...
Anyway, I'm more into selling trading cards at half.com - the 15% on a card selling for $1 or less is cheaper than listing on Ebay - and I'm getting good traffic & good sales.

I really like Half.com. I have been listing books there during the day, just books I have laying around here and I am amazed at how fast they are selling. I get 4 or 5 orders a day. Listing is so easy and fast. And anything I can't find on Half I can usually fine on Amazon and sell it there. Its much more fun that selling on ebay.
