Hi all!
I'm looking for your opinions on this:
A couple of months ago I shipped a package that was lost in the mail. I offered the buyer a refund which she politely turned down saying that it wasn't my fault. Very nice lady.
Anyway, today she puts on my feedback :
(praise) "item lost in mail, seller offered refund, very nice person"
I appreciate the kind feedback, but I am worried that others may see this and try to scam me.
What are your opinions on this?

Get delivery confirmation on every package until that feedback gets buried on another page

I would think it would win you more customers. They know they can bid w/confidence (I HATE that phrase) and know you aren't heading to Aruba for the winter w/their money.
Are you really worried scammers are going to come from all over ebay just to bid on your auctions because of this?

I think her feedback is great!
She sounds like the ideal bidder. I read a thread recently calling the seller a thief and a rip off because of a lost package.
We have all had packages that have been lost through no fault of our own.
If it is any consolation, she could have easily left a neutral, plus and I can only speak for myself, I almost never read the positive feedback, I do however search out the negatives and neutrals and read them.

Sorry, I did not totally read your post. I missed this statement,
but I am worried that others may see this and try to scam me.
Delivery confirmation was good advice.

ladyatana,
i don't know about others trying to scam you but the feedback does seem okay and like nothing to worry about.
I actually just got the andale newsletter and guess what? the feedback company reliablemerchants.com is in it!

Go with eventer's suggestion. DC untill the FB is burried. It's a good one.
eventer So sad about this message board, I'm going to miss your very good advice as well as lots of others.

mcjane,
Thank you but I think that was Zazzie's recommendation. Don't want her to spend the whole night Hmmmmmphing!!! in the corner.
I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around the various boards. I'm registered at most of them.

Don't sweat it. We've had a couple feedbacks of that nature and haven't had a problem.
Use DC as others have advised. It cuts back on the number of packages that mysteriously vanish. When you track the package for them some people suddenly find the item hiding in the closet....

ZAZZIE I am sooooo sorry. I had no idea what you meant by Hmmmmmph, in fact I thought it couldn't be meant for me.
Now I'm sitting here laughing at that Hmmmmmph that I thought was so strange. It WAS for me. Now that's funny.
Thanks eventer, for bailing me out.
I'm signed in at a lot of other places too, but it will never be the same.

Thanks everyone for your opinions and advice. I really don't think people would be coming out of the woodwork to bid on my auctions and scam me. I am a very insignificant seller (of course according to ebay recently, we are all insignificant ). I sell low priced craft pattern books, but you never know where dishonest people will show up.
I'll sure miss haunting this board. I love reading what everyone has to say about all sorts of topics.
Take care everyone!

ladyatana,
Don't worry. This very same thing happened to me a few years ago. I've shipped about 1000 items since then and NO ONE has claimed that their package didn't arrive. And, I don't even use delivery confirmation.
