WHAT was Ebay thinking!?!?!?!
The new process of buying an item from the Ebay stores requires checkout. You get an e-mail from Ebay that your buyer WANTS to purchase the item, but it is not deducted from your inventory until checkout is completed.
DUH!!!!! Until checkout is completed, the item STILL shows in your inventory, so a second buyer can come in and "purchase" the SAME item! If you have only one, it is quite confusing, and makes sellers look unprofessional and scatterbrained.
Ebay was certainly asleep at the wheel on this one!

kidsfeet... Insane, isn't it? There was a post by someone else (can't remember the thread) that gave a heads up about this very thing. I had been thinking about setting up a store in the next month or 2 and now am seriously thinking twice about it as there will be some things I would only have one of since I can't afford to buy gobs of inventory straight off.
Is eBay really this dense to think that we all sit at our computers 24 hours a day listening for the sound of a new e-mail so we can answer immediately and hope that the buyer then responds again immediately and that everything will happen in a few seconds so no-one else will hopefully request the same item before it is "sold"? It doesn't make any sense at all...
They are going to have to change this and soon or stores will go down the tubes so fast they will miss watching the slide.
Or MAYBE, now that I think about it, this is another one of their PLOYS to cater to the BIG companies who have oodles of inventory and many many multiples of each item so this would not be an issue for them.
Then again, I think the fee avoidance possibilities of this is a hoot...
